Buyer questions

  1. A common question

The stripes on my cushion don't run straight through on every side. Is that a mistake?

    The workshop's answer

No. The craftsmen match the stripes on one face. As the fabric turns around the corners, a slight shift on the other sides can't be avoided, so find the matched face and turn that side out.

  2. A common question

Can you make my window seat or banquette cushions from a designer fabric I already have?

    The workshop's answer

Sending in your own fabric isn't practical, so cushions are made from the workshop's own fabric charts. Send the fabric's name and your project details, and the workshop will look for the closest match in its range.

  3. A common question

Can the backrest hang on the wall like a headboard, on a French cleat?

    The workshop's answer

Not on a cleat, because the cushions have no rigid board inside. Ties can be sewn to the top corners instead, so the backrest hangs from hooks or a rail. It is built like the back pillows: a removable piped cover with shredded foam about 4 in (10 cm) thick, or a solid foam core wrapped in fiber for a firmer, flatter panel.
