Does the covers-only listing come with the foam and the metal bars?

No, it is empty covers only. For a complete floor sofa, choose the filled version, which includes the foam and the metal bars. The workshop checks covers-only orders and cancels and redirects any placed by mistake.
I already have foam inserts. Can I order just the covers?

Yes. The zippered cover listing is covers only, with no foam or filling, and custom covers-only orders are made for existing inserts, including trapezoid bay window cushions and outdoor sectional cushions. The shop double-checks that you really want covers only, and for shaped pieces it asks for a measured drawing and a photo of the space.
Can I buy a spare set of covers so I can change my sofa's color later?

Yes, there is a covers-only listing. You can order a full extra set, a single side of a cover, or just the pillow and armrest covers. Covers for the larger closed-corner sofa and single ottoman covers are available too, and extra covers can be sized to match a customized sofa.
