The quick answer

The Cushion Atlas sorts every made-to-measure cushion the atelier reads into 38 cushion types and 8 rooms. Open a type for its standard sizes, how to measure it, the shapes and fabrics that work, the questions buyers ask and every published reading of that cushion. Start from the room if you know the space but not the shape.

Buyer questions

Two of the questions buyers ask most often, with the workshop's answers.

  1. A common question

How do I measure a window seat for a custom cushion?

    The workshop's answer

Measure the front edge wall to wall, the back edge along the window, and the depth front to back on both the left and the right if it varies, plus each side edge if the walls are angled. Draw a simple top view with every measurement on its edge and send it with a photo.

  2. A common question

How thick are your bench cushions? Is 4 inches the standard?

    The workshop's answer

Yes, 4 in is the standard for bench, window seat and floor cushions, and most buyers keep it. 3 in is the common thinner choice; thicker is made to order and quoted higher.
