The quick answer

The Swatch Library sorts every cushion fabric the masters read into 12 families. Choose by the life the cushion will lead before the color: outdoor acrylic or a water-repellent fabric wherever weather reaches, a tight performance weave for pets and children, velvet, linen-look or corduroy indoors. Open a family for its swatch book, care notes and neighbors.

Buyer questions

Fabric questions buyers ask most, with the workshop's answers.

  1. A common question

What fabrics can I choose from for a custom cushion?

    The workshop's answer

Three main indoor families, linen-look, velvet and an easy-clean performance weave, each with a chart of around 40 colors, plus teddy, corduroy, cotton stripes, 100% cotton or linen, faux leather and a separate outdoor range. Many more can be sourced on request.

  2. A common question

Is your linen fabric 100% linen?

    The workshop's answer

Usually not. The standard linen charts are linen-look fabrics and blends, polyester, linen-polyester or cotton-linen, chosen because they wear well and clean easily. A separate 100% linen chart is available on request.

  3. A common question

Which fabric is easiest to clean with kids and pets?

    The workshop's answer

Indoors, the tight performance weave: durable, smooth, it doesn't hold dust and it wipes clean. Velvet is easy-clean too. Outdoors, use the water-repellent range. Covers machine wash at 86°F (30°C).
