Buyer questions

  1. A common question

Can I use the linen or velvet cushions outside? I wanted a fun color out there.

    The workshop's answer

No. Those indoor fabrics aren't suited to outdoor use. Outdoor cushions and their backrests should be ordered through the outdoor listing, which has more than 100 color options. The shop canceled and refunded the indoor order so the buyer could reorder correctly.

  2. A common question

Can you make a channel backrest of vertical rolls for a corner banquette and fix it with hook-and-loop strips?

    The workshop's answer

Foam alone won't hold as a fixed channel backrest. It has to be upholstered onto a thin wooden board, and the board is then fixed to the banquette. The seat can come in several pieces, with firm foam at least 2 in (5 cm) thick.

  3. A common question

Can you make trapezoid cushions for a large corner bench?

    The workshop's answer

Yes, but the workshop needs every side of each trapezoid, including the short end sides at the corners, and a plan drawing helps because it becomes the template. One corner bench took three trapezoid cushions about 26 3/4 in (68 cm) deep.
