Why a star floor cushion has no head of the table
A star floor cushion has no head of the table, and that is exactly why a house full of teenagers takes to it.

Reading the corner: canopy, lamp, books and one cloud
The photograph is lit like late evening, warm and low, and everything in it is placed for somebody who means to stay a while.
The ribbed cream knit lumbar is the grown-up pillow. Its ribs answer the veins in the leaf print. The white cloud pillow is the one playful shape, and one is plenty; a second would tip the corner back toward the nursery. The mustard cover that seemed a shade off
A buyer in the US ordered a replacement mustard cover for a corduroy teddy sofa and ottoman they already owned. When it arrived, they wrote that it didn't match the old mustard.
The workshop explained what I tell every apprentice: corduroy pile catches light differently depending on which way the ribs run, so one bolt can look like two shades. The shop had used the same fabric mill for three years, so the likeliest story was a simpler one: the older cover had been well used and had faded a little.
The care note that came with the answer is worth keeping. Wash corduroy covers at 86°F (30°C), and do not wash the white non-skid bases.
