The Cutting Table · compared on the table
The color options only show numbers. Where's the color chart?
Also asked as:Where is the color chart?Labeled by numbers, not the color name
A number is not yet a color. It becomes one beside its neighbors on the chart, and then again in your own daylight.
SaveThe quick answer
The numbered color chart is in the listing photos, usually the second, third or last image, and the workshop will also message it to you. Linen, velvet, soft fabric and teddy each have their own numbered chart. Most swatches carry a code rather than a name, so ask for larger close-up photos of any number you're considering.
Which chart, and what its numbers hide
| Fabric | Where to find it | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Linen | Its own numbered chart in the listing photos | On the floor-cushion chart, 19 is a cream close to white and 1 reads white-cream |
| Velvet | Its own numbered chart | Velvet 11 is the one for a true white |
| Soft fabric | Its own numbered chart | Includes a cream |
| Teddy | Its own numbered chart | Sent by message on request, like the others |
| Corduroy | Named options, 9 or 10 fixed colors | Indigo is the lighter blue, dark blue the darker |

Why a code beats a name
Ask ten people for water green and you'll get ten greens, some leaning mint, some leaning slate. A fabric code points at one bolt. That is why most swatches carry numbers, and why the chart exists: it lets you match the name in your head to the code the cutter reads.
Some chart colors photograph a little dark. Linen 19 and 1 look deeper on the chart than in person, where 19 is a soft cream near white. Daylight never lies; your screen sometimes does. The Pattern on screen versus daylight explains the gap, and swatches close it. Browse the velvet and linen families side by side.

Buyer questions
- A common question
Your colors are codes, not names. How do I find the one I want?

Questions buyers ask next
What if the color I receive isn't what I expected?
Send a daylight photo taken near a window. The workshop checks your order codes and its pre-shipping photo; depending on the case it has remade covers, sent replacements, offered partial refunds or discounts, or accepted a buyer-paid return.
Can corduroy be made in a color outside its chart?
No. Corduroy comes in about 9-10 fixed colors: green, brick, mustard, beige, dark brown, anthracite, off white, dark blue, indigo and silver gray. For another shade, ask about velvet or linen instead.
Is the N03 stripe gray or beige?
N03 is a cream-beige stripe, not gray, and piping in 108, 110 or 912 picks up its darker stripe. For the other N01-N05 tones, ask for a photo of a finished cushion before you choose.
