Will you double-check my order details with me before you make it?

Right, then. Nothing gets cut on a guess. Here is what makes the workshop stop, and what it asks you before the scissors come out.

The quick answer

Yes, the workshop checks every custom order and holds it when something is unclear or mismatched: two sizes in a one-cushion order, a missing fabric code or dimensions, or pieces that should match but don't. Final sizes, thickness and colors are sent for your approval, and production starts only after you confirm. A photo of the finished piece is available before dispatch.

The approval list is the cushion you'll get

The list that comes back is short on purpose: final sizes, thickness and colors, piece by piece. Read it the way you'd read a check before signing it. I have transposed two digits in my time; everyone has, and this list is where you catch them.

If a number is still open, say so. Measurements can be updated any time before the fabric is cut, and production can wait until you've confirmed a color. The personalization note Pattern shows how to write sizes so they read one way only, and a custom cushion drawing settles odd shapes. What's the one number on your order you'd least like to find wrong after the cut, dear?

A real project

Cream on one module, beige on the other

A buyer ordered two sections of a modular floor sofa, one in cream and one in beige. That can be a choice; two-tone sets are made on purpose. So the workshop didn't guess. It messaged to ask whether the mix was intended, and the answer came back plainly: that was a mistake, both should be beige. The order was corrected to all beige.

Sizes, thickness and fabric codes to check before you say yes

  • Length, depth and thickness for every piece
  • One fabric code per piece, and matching codes on pieces meant to match
  • Seat length against backrest length
  • The same thickness and non-slip choice across related orders
  • Ties, piping and anything else you wrote in the notes
  • The pre-dispatch photo, if you asked for one; check the ties on it

A custom cushion order with two sizes, a missing fabric code or mismatched modules goes on hold until the buyer confirms the final list.

Buyer questions

  1. A common question

Can you look over my order before it goes into production?

    The workshop's answer

Yes. The workshop reviews orders and puts them on hold if something is unclear, such as two sizes written for one cushion, mismatched fabric or non-slip choices between related orders, a missing fabric code, or seat and backrest lengths that don't match. It confirms with you before cutting.

  2. A common question

Will you confirm the details with me and send a photo before shipping?

    The workshop's answer

Yes. The final sizes, thickness and colors are listed for your approval before production, and anything missing, such as dimensions left out of the notes, is requested. A photo of the finished piece can be sent before dispatch; check details like ties on it.

  3. A common question

If I pick different colors for pieces that should match, will anyone notice?

    The workshop's answer

Yes. When one module was ordered in cream and another in beige, the workshop messaged to ask whether that was intended, and the buyer corrected it to all beige.

  4. A common question

My cushion is already cut. Is it too late to change the color?

    The workshop's answer

Once the fabric is cut or the piece is made, the color can't be swapped for free and the original ships. In past cases the workshop photographed it before shipping and offered a replacement cover in another code at a reduced price.

Questions buyers ask next

When does production actually start on a custom cushion?

Only after you confirm the final details. If anything is unclear the order stays on hold; once you approve the listed sizes, thickness and colors, it goes to the cutting table.

What keeps a custom order from being put on hold?

One size per cushion written as length x depth x thickness, a fabric code on every piece, and the same fabric, thickness and non-slip choice across related orders. Check that seat and backrest lengths agree before you check out.

Can I still change measurements after ordering?

Yes, any time before the fabric is cut. Production can also be paused until you send final measurements or confirm a color, so ask for a hold rather than guessing at a number.
