The Cutting Table · a question, worked through

Can I see real customer photos or a video before I buy?

A listing photo is one frame under good lights. Before a floor sofa takes a whole wall of your living room, you want more data points, partner, and you can have them.

The quick answer

Yes: ask in a message and the workshop sends real customer photos, videos and social media reels, including someone sitting on the floor sofa to show scale and how far the base cushion compresses. Close-ups of details such as the rear L bracket are available too, and for made-to-measure cushions it shares links to similar finished pieces.

Precision starts on the phone. Give the workshop your measurements and they will read them back to you, edge by edge. — Nate

Leave your details and the workshop will call you to confirm measurements, fabric, foam and piping. No prices, dates or payment on this page: it is a request, not an order.

Fabric
The cover cloth: weave, color and care code.
Foam
The core: its density and thickness set the feel.
Piping
The corded seam edge: matching, contrast or none.
Only for this request: no marketing calls or texts. Outside the US, add the country code.
In inches: length × depth × thickness, plus any angles or cut corners.

* Required. A member of the workshop team will call you to talk it through; nothing is charged and nothing is made until you have agreed on every detail with them.

We use these details only to answer this request and make your cushion: your name and contact details, the cushion details and photos you send, the page you came from and the ad or link that brought you, if any. The workshop that makes the cushions receives them. We don't sell them or share them for advertising, and we delete requests after 24 months. Privacy notice for requests.

One message, four requests

Listing photos are taken to sell. Customer photos are taken to live with. You want both, and the second kind is yours on request. Put the whole ask in one message:

  • Photos in the color you're considering, in real rooms.
  • A video of an adult sitting on it, for scale.
  • A frame with the base cushion pressed down, to judge compression.
  • A close-up of the rear L bracket.

Measure twice; the fabric remembers. A video shows what a spec line can't. Pair it with the floor sofa buying Pattern and the modular floor sofas page.

Follow-up: “Why would I want to see the bracket?”

Because it's the part doing the holding. Free-standing metal frames sit behind the backrests, two at the sides and two at the back, and stop them sliding back or tipping when you lean. They aren't attached to the cushions. A close-up shows how the frame sits against your wall and floor before it arrives. The support bars Pattern covers assembly.

Follow-up: “I'm ordering a cushion, not a sofa”

Different case, same principle. A made-to-measure cushion doesn't exist until you order it, so there's no photo of yours yet. What the workshop shares instead is links to similar finished pieces, so you can judge edge, piping and fabric on something real. For color, add a swatch held in daylight; screen versus daylight explains why.

A floor sofa listing photo is one frame; ask for customer photos, a sitting video and a close-up of the rear L bracket before you buy.

Buyer questions

  1. A common question

Can you send real photos or a video of someone sitting on the sofa before I buy?

    The workshop's answer

Yes. Extra photos in several colors were sent, along with a video and photos showing the base cushion while someone sits on it.

  2. A common question

Do you have real customer photos or videos of the floor sofa?

    The workshop's answer

Yes. Customer photos, videos and social media reels are shared, including shots of people sitting to show scale and views of the rear bracket.

  3. A common question

Do you have customer photos of this cushion?

    The workshop's answer

The workshop shares links to similar finished pieces so you can see real examples before ordering.

  4. A common question

Can I sleep on the cushion or use it as a mattress?

    The workshop's answer

Questions buyers ask next

Does a floor sofa come with a warranty?

Warranty terms come from the workshop, not from this site, so ask for them in writing before you order and keep that message. If a part arrives faulty, photograph it the day the box opens and message the workshop with the photo.

Are the metal frames fixed to the floor sofa cushions?

No. Four free-standing frames, two at the sides and two at the back, sit behind the backrests. They keep the backs from sliding or tipping and stay put once someone sits.

Can I see my own cushion once it's made, before it ships?

Yes. On request the finished cushion is photographed before dispatch, and the workshop can wait for your approval before handing it to the courier.
