The Cutting Table · a common question
Can I get my cushions by a specific date for an event?
Also asked as:Can I get this by the 10th?Event next month, is that possible?
The party is on the calendar and the porch still looks like last summer. Here is how to get new cushions there first.
The quick answer
Often, yes: custom cushions have been made for a specific date when the order went in right away with the deadline written in the order note or personalization box. Message the workshop just after ordering so it can say whether your date and express shipping fit, and get its answer on the date in writing. Deadlines raised late, and dates just before the December holidays, are harder.

Have Rosa’s workshop cut this for you
Tell the workshop who sits there: grandkids, the dog, a cup of coffee at six. The right fabric and foam follow from the people. — Rosa
Leave your details and the workshop will call you to confirm measurements, fabric, foam and piping. No prices, dates or payment on this page: it is a request, not an order.
How to put a date on a custom order
Order the day you decide
Deadlines are easiest when the order goes in right away; a date raised later is harder to meet.
Write the date where production sees it
Put the deadline in the order note or the personalization box, not only in a message.
Send a quick message too
Message the workshop right after ordering with the same date, so the order can be flagged urgent and the workshop can say whether express shipping fits your date.
Order the extras together
Bolsters or pillows added later may miss the original deadline, so put every piece in the first order.
Past event deadlines, order by order
| What was ordered | What happened |
|---|---|
| One urgent bench cushion | Made the next day, shipped within 2 days |
| Four floor cushions | Arrived within about a week on one order |
| Floor sofas | Made and delivered within 7-10 days on one order |
| Two 24 x 35 in (60 x 90 cm) pieces | Promised in about two weeks on one quote |
| Custom seats and backrests | Arrived ahead of the listing's estimated date |
| An order for a buyer in the US | Confirmed before a May 1 deadline |
Where a deadline gets tight
Fully custom orders take longer than simple ones, so a date a few weeks out leaves breathing room, and next week is a question to ask before you order, not after. The hard ones are the holidays: a deadline in the last days before the December holidays may simply not be possible. When a sofa once missed its holiday date, the buyer was offered a discount for delivery just after.
If your date is in the other direction, the custom cushion personalization note is also where you ask the workshop to hold an order. For what to include up front, see what to send for a quote, and for the porch itself, patio and porch cushions.
When is your party, neighbor?
An urgent custom bench cushion was once made the next day and shipped within 2 days; a deadline written in the order note is what gets an order flagged urgent.

Buyer questions
- A common question
Can I have my order by a certain date for an event?
The workshop's answerOften, if you order right away: past orders with the date in the note were prioritized, and dates two to four weeks out have been confirmed as workable. Write the deadline in the order note so production flags it.
- A common question
I need my cushion by a set date. Can you rush it?
The workshop's answerOften, yes, if you order promptly: past rush orders were marked urgent, moved up in production, and some shipped express. Write the deadline in the personalization box and message right after ordering; a deadline raised late is harder to meet.
- A common question
If I order today, could it arrive in about two weeks?
The workshop's answerPossibly, if the order goes in right away. Two 24 x 35 in (60 x 90 cm) pieces were promised in about two weeks, and custom seats and backrests have arrived ahead of the listing's date. For your own order, get the current estimate with the quote and leave a margin.
- A common question
Can I get cushions next week for a party?
The workshop's answerPossibly, if you order right away and the pieces are simple. One order went out express and arrived before the buyer's party. Put the date and every size in one message before you pay, so the answer covers the whole order.
Questions buyers ask next
Will cushions ordered in mid-December arrive in time for the holidays?
Maybe not. Deadlines that fall just before the December holidays may not be possible, so order well ahead. When one sofa missed a holiday date, the buyer was offered a discount for delivery just after.
Can I add a bolster to a rush order a few days later?
You can, but it may not make the same date. Items added later, such as extra bolsters, may miss the original deadline, so put every piece you need for the event in the first order.
Are there ready-made cushions that ship faster than custom ones?
Often, yes: stock sofas and in-stock 28 x 56 in (71 x 142 cm) cushion sets have gone out faster, because custom cushions are made by hand first. If the date matters more than the exact size, ask whether a stock size fits your space.
