The Cutting Table · a checklist answer
I picked the wrong color by mistake. Can you make it again in the right one?
Also asked as:I ordered the wrong color for the small oneCan you make just the small cushion cover again?
Pull up a chair. This happens more often than you'd think, and the fix is usually smaller than the panic.
SaveThe quick answer
Yes, a cushion ordered in the wrong color can be made again in the right one. Before production the fabric code is simply changed; once it's made, remakes have been charged at production cost, and often that's just a new cover at the cover price. The workshop confirms size and code before starting and gives the new piece's timing with the quote.

The wrong-color checklist, in the order that saves money
- Message the workshop the same day you spot it; before production, the code is just changed.
- Send the correct fabric code written exactly as the chart shows it, such as COR-205.
- Ask whether a new cover alone will do; it usually will, at the cover price.
- Confirm the size and code when the workshop reads them back to you before cutting.
- Ask for the production time for the new piece along with the quote.
When you catch it decides what it costs
| When you notice | What happens | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| Before production | The fabric code is changed on the order | Nothing to remake |
| After it's made | Remade in the right color, often as a new cover only | You, at production or cover price |
| You'd rather send it back | Returned under the custom-order rule | You: return shipping plus any loss in value |
| The workshop sent the wrong color | Photo first, the day the box opens | The workshop |
Just the small cover, please
A buyer wrote to the workshop after choosing the wrong color for the small cushion in an order. Only the small one was wrong. Did the whole thing have to be redone?
No. Only a replacement cover was needed: a corduroy cover about 41¾ x 18½ in (106 x 47 cm) in COR-205, charged at the cover price. Before sewing, the workshop read the size and color code back to the buyer, so the second try would be the last.
Why the remake isn't free, and why that's still fair
On my grandmother's porch, whoever spilled the sweet tea fetched the rag. Same rule here, only gentler: in past cases, when the wrong code came from the order, the remake was charged at production cost, and when the workshop sent the wrong color, it remade the piece. Photograph it the day the box opens and send the photo to the workshop with the fabric code from your order.
Most color slips start on a screen. Order fabric swatches first, and write the fabric code plainly in your personalization note. For cushion covers the fix is usually one new cover; the remakes and fixes Pattern covers sizes too.
So tell me, neighbor: did you write your code down anywhere besides the order form?
Catch a wrong fabric code before production and it is simply changed; catch it after, and ask the workshop to quote the remake and its timing.

Buyer questions
- A common question
I chose the wrong color by mistake. What would a new cover alone in the right color cost?
The workshop's answerOnly a replacement cover is needed, charged at the cover price rather than as a whole new cushion. The workshop confirms the size and color code with you before production.
- A common question
My custom order is already made in the wrong color I picked. What are my options?
The workshop's answerOnce it's made, the workshop can remake it in the new color if you pay the production cost; otherwise the original ships as ordered. Returning a custom piece means paying return shipping plus any loss in value. A remake quote comes with its own timing.
- A common question
What if the workshop sent me the wrong color?
The workshop's answerSend the workshop a photo the day the box opens. In past cases the item or cover was remade in the right color and size, or a partial refund was offered to keep the wrong one.
- A common question
The color is what I ordered, but I don't like it in my room. Can I get a full refund?
The workshop's answerColor preference isn't a fault, so there's no free return. A custom piece can go back at your own cost, or you can take a cheaper route: a new cover in another fabric at cost, or a partial refund to keep it.
Questions buyers ask next
Can I switch fabric colors after paying but before my cushion is made?
Yes. Before production starts, the fabric code on your order can simply be changed, so message the workshop as soon as you notice. Once the cushion is made, the same change becomes a remake at production cost instead.
Do I keep my foam insert if only the cover is remade?
In most wrong-color cases only a replacement cover is needed, charged at the cover price, so the insert you already have goes into the new cover. Size and code are confirmed with you before the replacement is sewn.
What if a seam opens or the zipper breaks on the replacement cover?
Send the workshop a photo or a short video of the seam or zipper. In past cases the workshop made a new cover in the same size and fabric, or offered a small partial refund when the buyer preferred a local repair.
