The Cutting Table · a question, worked through

What colors does the corduroy teddy sofa come in, and can I get a custom color?

Ten shades, my friends, and every one is normally in stock. The colors that aren't on the card are where you and the workshop start talking.

The quick answer

The corduroy teddy sofa comes in 10 colors: green, brick, mustard, beige, dark brown, anthracite, off-white, dark blue, indigo and silver gray, all normally in stock. Custom corduroy colors such as lavender, olive or emerald aren't offered, but a similar olive can be made in velvet or linen, and the foam filling can be bought on its own.

“Do you have it in more colors?”

Ten, and they are a warm, earthy set: brick, mustard, beige, dark brown, off-white, then the cooler anthracite, dark blue, indigo and silver gray, with one green. Indigo is the newest. All of them are normally in stock, and you can mix them across pieces by writing each color in the order note.

Know two of them before you fall in love. The white is an off-white, and covers have come off-white or beige, not cream. The green is a water green, fairly dark, and there is no emerald. See the cloth itself under corduroy and the sofas under modular floor sofas.

“Would you ever do olive, lavender or hot pink?”

Not in corduroy. Lavender, olive, dark green, emerald, royal green, electric blue and hot pink have all been asked for, and the answer stays the same: only the colors on the product page are made. The sofa fabric has one pink, and it isn't hot.

There are side doors. A similar olive can be made in velvet or linen from the fabric charts, and sage, olive and khaki shows how those greens live in a room. Now and then the workshop adds a color it already stocks as a new option, as it did with green on a floor-cushion couch listing. Which shade are you hoping for?

“Can the bars be gold, and what if my color is missing?”

The support bars come in silver chrome only, whatever the corduroy, so gold legs or a different base color aren't possible. If your color simply isn't there, one buyer was offered the foam filling alone, to dress in covers from elsewhere.

Before you decide, ask for real-life customer photos of the shade; the workshop sends them on request. The screen versus daylight Pattern explains why they matter.

The corduroy teddy sofa comes in 10 fixed shades; for olive, the workshop points buyers to a similar color in velvet or linen instead.

Buyer questions

  1. A common question

What colors does the corduroy teddy sofa come in? Is there olive?

    The workshop's answer

Green, brick, mustard, beige, dark brown, anthracite, off-white, dark blue, indigo and silver gray. Olive isn't available in corduroy, but a similar shade can be made in velvet or linen from the fabric charts.

  2. A common question

Is there a hot pink option for the corner sofa?

    The workshop's answer

There's only one pink in that sofa fabric and no hot pink. The workshop shares a swatch photo and a customer photo of the finished sofa so you can see the real tone.

  3. A common question

Can I get lavender, gold legs or a different base color?

    The workshop's answer

No. The teddy sofa comes in about 9 colors plus a new indigo, all normally in stock, and you can mix colors across pieces in the order notes. Custom colors, a different-colored base and gold metal aren't offered; the bars are silver chrome only.

  4. A common question

Does the teddy sofa come in emerald or forest green?

    The workshop's answer

Only the colors on the product page are available. When a buyer wanted a missing color, the workshop suggested buying only the foam filling and getting covers elsewhere.

  5. A common question

Could I have a deeper red, cream, dark green or olive?

    The workshop's answer

For the corduroy sofa, generally only the colors on the product page. Covers came only in off-white or beige, not cream. The workshop sometimes adds a color it already stocks as a new option, as it did with green on a floor-cushion couch listing.

Questions buyers ask next

Is the teddy sofa's white a pure white?

No. The sofa's white is an off-white, and covers have come in off-white or beige rather than cream. Ask for customer photos taken in daylight if the white has to sit beside a wall or rug you already love.

Can a color from another listing be used on the teddy sofa?

Sometimes. The workshop has added a color it already stocks as a new option, and listed colors never photographed on a particular model, such as water green or anthracite, can be requested in the order note.

How can I see a corduroy shade before ordering?

Ask for real-life customer photos of the shade you're weighing; the workshop sends them on request, along with swatch photos. Look at them by daylight, not late at night on a phone screen turned warm.
