Do custom cushions come with ties, or do I have to ask for them?

Custom cushions do not come with ties unless you request them when you order. The same goes for a non-slip bottom. Write exactly what you want in the personalization note, such as 'two corner ties' or 'anti-slip underside', before the order goes into production. Straps have been added free of charge on request.

Why ties only happen if the note asks for them

Right, then. The personalization note is where a cushion's extras live, and anything not written there simply isn't sewn. Ties, straps and a non-slip bottom are all on-request options, not defaults.

So write it plainly: 'two corner ties', or 'anti-slip underside, no velcro'. For dining chair cushions, the tie placement Pattern shows where ties earn their keep, and ties, non-slip base or velcro compares the three. What does your cushion sit on: a spindle chair, a bench, a window seat?

Tie and non-slip lines worth adding to your note

  • Four corner ties, if you'll knot them together under the seat.
  • Two ties on the back edge, if you'll tie around a rail.
  • Anti-slip underside, for a seat with nothing to tie to.
  • Tie positions marked on a sketch or photo, then check the pre-shipment photo.

The chair pads that arrived bare

A buyer in the US assumed ties came standard and never mentioned them. The chair cushions arrived without any. The workshop offered to pay half of what a local tailor charged to sew ties on afterwards. A fair fix, dear, but a detour one line in the note would have saved.

Ties and a non-slip bottom are both on-request extras on a custom cushion: if the personalization note doesn't mention them, they aren't sewn on.

Will floor sofa mattresses stay together without ties when used as a bed?
