The Cutting Table · a common question
Can I buy now at the sale price and have it delivered later?
Also asked as:Can I buy now and delay the shipping?Lock in the good price and send in June?
A sale ends on a set day. Your wait can end on one too. Give the workshop a date on the calendar and it will hold the order, price and all.
The quick answer
Yes: you pay the sale price at checkout, and holding the shipment doesn't change it; the workshop keeps the order and ships it for the date you name. Write an exact ship or arrive-by date and a phone number in the personalization box or order note, and keep the workshop's reply confirming the hold in writing. The order page may mark it shipped meanwhile; it hasn't left.
SaveKey facts
- An order placed during a sale keeps the sale price when shipping is delayed.
- The delivery date goes in the personalization box or order note, or in a message.
- Dispatch is timed back from your date, leaving a margin for delivery.
- A loose request like 'after January' once led to a delivery while the buyer was away.
- The exact delivery address is needed before the order ships.
- The marketplace may mark a held order as shipped when its ship-by date passes; the workshop keeps it until you ask.
- After one very long hold, the workshop made a fresh set so the cushions wouldn't arrive misshapen.
- Without a hold, the order goes into production as usual, and the quote states current making and delivery times.
- Vacuum-packed foam shouldn't stay compressed more than 2-3 weeks, so unpack a held order soon after it arrives; most cushions recover in 24-72 hours.

Short list: size, sun hours, how fast it has to dry. The workshop goes through it with you. — Callum
Leave your details and the workshop will call you to confirm measurements, fabric, foam and piping. No prices, dates or payment on this page: it is a request, not an order.
Lock the price now, name the day later
Place the order while the sale runs and the sale price is kept, however long the order waits. Write your preferred delivery date and a phone number in the personalization box or the order note, or send them in a message. The workshop holds the order and ships it to arrive on or after that date.
Dispatch is timed back from your date with a margin for delivery, and the workshop's reply confirming the hold is your record, so keep the message. What belongs in the note is laid out in the personalization note Pattern.
So when do you actually get the keys?
Four lines for the order note
- An exact date: ship on, or arrive on or after, a named day.
- The exact delivery address, including the new one if you're moving.
- A phone number for the courier.
- A short message asking the workshop to confirm the hold date.
The sofa that beat its owner home
A buyer once asked for delivery “after January.” That sounds clear enough in a warm kitchen. On the calendar it means any day from the first of February, and the sofa arrived while the buyer was away. Loose dates are weather forecasts, friend. Exact dates are tide tables.
Another order sat on hold a very long time. Before it shipped, the workshop made a fresh set, so the cushions would not arrive misshapen from months in storage.
When the marketplace says shipped and the parcel hasn't moved
The marketplace puts a ship-by date on every order. If that date passes during your hold, the marketplace may show the order as shipped, sometimes with a label or tracking number attached. The order is still with the workshop, and it stays there until you ask for it.
A tracking number with no movement during a hold means exactly that, not a lost parcel. Holds work the same for a modular floor sofa or a single bench cushion.
Order during the sale and the sale price is kept; the workshop holds the order and ships it to arrive on or after the exact date in the order note.

Buyer questions
- A common question
Can I order now and have it delivered after I move, or once I'm back from a trip?
The workshop's answerYes. The order is held and shipped to arrive after the date you give, and the current sale price still applies. Buyers have used this during sales, for move-in dates, and to avoid a delivery while they were away.
- A common question
I want the sale price, but I can't take delivery for a few weeks. Can you hold my order?
The workshop's answerYes. Order now and write your preferred delivery date and phone number in the personalization box, or message the shop. If the marketplace's ship-by date passes, a label or tracking number may be added, but the order still won't ship until your date.
- A common question
Can I buy at the sale price and have it arrive after move-in day?
The workshop's answerYes. Add your earliest delivery date in the order note or a message, and give the exact delivery address before shipping. The order is held and shipped to arrive on your date.
- A common question
I'm moving. Can you ship later, or should I just order with the new address?
The workshop's answerEither works. Place the order now, even during a sale, and give your date; dispatch is timed so the sofa arrives after you move in, with a margin for delivery. You can also order straight to the new address.
Questions buyers ask next
Does a held order keep its price after the sale ends?
Yes. The price is the one you paid at checkout, and holding the shipment doesn't change it. Put the delivery date in the order note or a message so the hold is on record from the start.
Is naming a month enough for a delayed delivery?
No. Give a named day to ship on or arrive after. A request for delivery “after January” once meant a sofa arrived while the buyer was away, which one specific date would have prevented.
What happens to cushions that wait a long time before shipping?
They stay at the workshop until you ask for them. After one very long hold, the workshop made a fresh set before shipping, so the cushions would not arrive misshapen from storage.
