The Cutting Table · a question, worked through
Can you guarantee my custom cushion arrives by a certain date?
Every season somebody writes in with a date circled on the calendar: a wedding, a trip, a model home, a photo shoot. Here's what the workshop can promise, and the small part it can't.

The quick answer
No custom cushion delivery date can be guaranteed 100%, but you can ask for the order to be prioritized and for a dispatch day in writing. Tell the workshop your deadline before you buy and ask whether the date is realistic. Ask which courier applies and how long transit is running, and leave a margin for carrier delays.
Key facts
- An order can be prioritized and handed to the courier on a set day.
- No delivery date can be guaranteed 100%; carrier delays can add 1-2 days.
- One deadline was given 99% odds; the last 1% was carrier risk, such as a lost parcel or one held in transit.
- Deadline commitments have been made for orders placed the same day.
- Orders have gone by expedited courier (FedEx, UPS or DHL); transit time depends on the carrier and your address.
- Fabric that has to be sourced adds time; velvet chart colors are almost always in stock.

Tell the workshop who sits there: grandkids, the dog, a cup of coffee at six. The right fabric and foam follow from the people. — Rosa
Leave your details and the workshop will call you to confirm measurements, fabric, foam and piping. No prices, dates or payment on this page: it is a request, not an order.
How a deadline conversation runs
You: 'It has to be here by the 25th.'
Say the date and the reason before you pay, and write it in the order note so the order is flagged.
The workshop: 'Order today and it goes first.'
The order can be prioritized and handed to the courier on a set day; get that day named before you pay.
You: 'So it's guaranteed?'
Not absolutely. One order got 99% odds; the last 1% was carrier risk, a lost parcel or one held in transit.
The workshop: 'Here's the clock.'
In-stock fabric starts sooner than sourced fabric, and transit follows dispatch. Treat any estimate as an estimate, and keep a margin.
How do you plan a cushion order around a deadline?
Pull up a chair, neighbor, because this part is planning, not luck. One buyer needed cushions in a model home by the 25th; another was photographing a room on the 26th. Both asked before ordering, while there was still time to choose.
If the date is tight, pick an in-stock fabric, write the deadline in your personalization note, and leave 2-3 days after delivery for the foam to recover; the first 72 hours explains why. Staging a daybed? The daybed cushions hub shows what to measure first.
What date is circled on your calendar?
Ask for a dispatch day before you order, then leave a margin: a parcel can still be held in transit after dispatch.

Buyer questions
- A common question
I need my order by a certain date. Can you get it to me in time?
The workshop's answerOften, yes. Tell the workshop the deadline before buying and ask whether the date can be met; it has committed to dates before, with a warning that a parcel held in transit can cause delays outside its control.
- A common question
Can I get my cushions by a set date for a photo shoot or a model home?
The workshop's answerUsually, yes. One order was given 99% odds, the last 1% being carrier risk. Write the date in your order note so it's flagged and shipped as early as possible.
- A common question
Is there anything ready-made that ships faster than a custom order?
The workshop's answerYes. Stock sofas and in-stock 28 x 56 in cushion sets skip the making, so they leave sooner than custom cushions, which are made by hand first; ask for the current ship date if your deadline is close.
Questions buyers ask next
Does paying extra for faster shipping lock in my date?
No. Orders have gone by expedited courier, FedEx, UPS or DHL, so the real gain comes from ordering early and flagging the deadline. A carrier delay can still eat into your margin.
How far ahead should I order for a wedding or party?
As early as you can, with the date given before you pay. Count back from the event: making time, transit, 2-3 days for the foam to recover, then a margin. Last-minute holiday deadlines are the ones that may not be possible.
Which fabric is the safest pick when the calendar is tight?
An in-stock one. Sourcing an out-of-stock fabric adds time, while velvet chart colors are almost always in stock.
