Will my cushion order come through the post office or by courier?

Also asked as:What shipping company will deliver it?Is my order coming through the post office?

No mail carrier, no slip from the post office. Your cushions ride with an express courier, and here's who might knock.

The quick answer

Your parcel is delivered by courier, not by post: orders ship only with FedEx, UPS or DHL, never through a national postal service. That means postal strikes don't affect them. Rush orders go by FedEx Express, and some replacements travel by UPS. FedEx occasionally hands a parcel to a local courier for the final leg, so a different company may turn up.

Tell them where it lives. Porch, deck or boat: the weather picks the fabric and the foam before anyone else does. — Callum

Leave your details and the workshop will call you to confirm measurements, fabric, foam and piping. No prices, dates or payment on this page: it is a request, not an order.

Fabric · Foam · Pipingwhat the workshop will confirm with you

Fabric
The cover cloth: weave, color and care code.
Foam
The core: its density and thickness set the feel.
Piping
The corded seam edge: matching, contrast or none.
Only for this request: no marketing calls or texts. Outside the US, add the country code.
In inches: length × depth × thickness, plus any angles or cut corners.

"A different van came to the door"

That happens. FedEx sometimes passes a parcel to a local courier for the last few miles, so the name on the truck isn't always the name on your tracking. A buyer abroad was told by the local courier it would deliver that day, and nothing came.

Local delivery schedules can add a few days. Check the FedEx tracking and use the contact link in the courier's own messages. That gives you the most accurate window, friend.

"And if the carrier loses it?"

Then you write to the workshop with the tracking number and keep its reply. When a carrier lost a parcel, the order went back into production, was remade and reshipped at no cost to the buyer.

If tracking says delivered and you can't find it, check the delivery photo, porch, mailroom and neighbors before anything else. When it does arrive, a floor sofa comes as vacuum-sealed roll packs; the first 72 hours Pattern covers opening them. The modular floor sofas hub shows what's inside.

When a courier loses a custom cushion parcel, message the workshop with the tracking number and keep its written reply; one lost order was remade and reshipped.

Buyer questions

  1. A common question

Which carrier do you ship with?

    The workshop's answer

FedEx, with FedEx Express for rush orders and occasionally UPS for replacements. Nothing goes by national post, so postal strikes don't affect delivery. Tracking is sent at dispatch.

  2. A common question

Which couriers do you use, and what if my parcel gets lost?

    The workshop's answer

Only FedEx, DHL and UPS, and FedEx often hands over to a local courier for the final delivery. When a carrier lost a parcel, the order was remade and reshipped at no cost to the buyer.

  3. A common question

The local courier said it would deliver, but nothing came. What's going on?

    The workshop's answer

Orders go out with FedEx and may be passed to a local courier, and local schedules can add a few days. Check the FedEx tracking and use the contact link in the courier's messages for the most accurate window.

  4. A common question

I'll be away when it's due. Can you hold it?

    The workshop's answer

Yes. Share your travel dates and the workshop holds the order, reconfirms with you, and ships it to arrive after you're back. Exact days can't be guaranteed, but you can adjust the day with the courier.

Questions buyers ask next

Can a cushion order be rushed for an event?

There's no firm guarantee, but you can ask for priority production, an upgrade to FedEx Express and dispatch timed to your date. Get the plan and the transit time in writing, and leave a little margin.

Why did my sofa cushions and bars arrive on different days?

They ship as separate packages: roll packs of cushions and a small box of metal bars. They travel together but often arrive on different days, sometimes with different couriers.

When do I get a tracking number?

At dispatch. It's added to your order when the parcel ships, and it's the most reliable way to follow delivery, more reliable than any estimated date shown on the order page.
