Do your custom cushions and floor sofas come with a warranty?
Also asked as:How long is the warranty? Is there a guarantee on the sofa?
Every porch cushion I ever re-covered came with a story about the day something let go. Here's what to ask before that day, and what to send when it comes.
SaveThe quick answer
Warranty terms for custom cushions and floor sofas come from the workshop, not from this site, so ask for them in writing before you order and keep that message. If a seam, zipper or part fails, send a photo or short video right away. Change-of-mind returns and months of wear are separate conversations from a workshop fault.
What to send, and what to ask, when a cushion goes wrong
| What happened | What to send | What to ask the workshop |
|---|---|---|
| Arrived damaged | Photos of the damage and the packaging | What it will replace, and whether only the affected part |
| Wrong item sent | A photo of what arrived beside your order | How the correct item will be made and sent |
| Loose stitching or a seam fault | A close-up photo of the seam | Whether it will remake the cover or offer a repair refund |
| Cushion doesn't hold up | A photo or short video, and when the box was opened | What it counts as a fault, and what it will do |
| Changed your mind | Nothing yet: check the listing's return terms first | Who pays return shipping, and when the refund follows |
| Worn after months of daily use | Photos of the wear | Whether replacement covers or a partial refund are possible |
Key facts
- Keep the workshop's answer about its warranty terms with your order messages.
- A photo or video of the problem is the first thing the workshop asks for.
- Show the whole piece and a close-up of the seam, zipper or damage, and name the size, fabric code and piping you ordered.
- Loose stitching, a broken zipper or damage on arrival is a different conversation from a change of mind.
- High-quality fabric and foam and stainless metal parts are cited for the sofa.
- Change-of-mind returns follow the listing's return terms; in past cases the buyer paid the return shipping.
- Wear after months of daily use is a separate conversation; replacement covers or a partial refund have been offered in past cases.
- Handmade cushions can differ from the ordered size by about 0.5-1 in (1-2 cm); a size complaint needs photos with a tape measure.
- A cushion still flat about 1 week after unpacking is worth photographing and reporting to the workshop.
- Refund timing depends on the workshop and your bank.

Have Rosa’s workshop cut this for you
Swings sway, rockers rock, dogs circle three times. Tell the workshop what your seat goes through, and they will plan for it. — Rosa
Leave your details and the workshop will call you to confirm measurements, fabric, foam and piping. No prices, dates or payment on this page: it is a request, not an order.
Two buyers, two loose ends
One buyer wrote to the workshop because the stitching on an L-shaped backrest cover had started coming loose. Photos went in, the workshop looked, and a brand-new L-shaped backrest cover was made and sent at its cost.
Another buyer, months into daily use, asked for a refund. The workshop didn't treat months of wear as a return; it offered two roads instead: replacement covers at no charge, or a partial refund. They took the refund and kept right on sitting.
The floor sofa, and what to ask about it
For the modular floor sofa, the workshop points to what is inside: high-quality fabric and foam, and stainless metal parts. The support bars Pattern shows how those parts go together.
For cushions, ask the workshop what it covers and for how long, and keep that message. Kids and dogs are the real quality control, and a seam that gives under them is exactly the kind of thing to photograph and report the day you see it. If the problem is a size you measured yourself, the remake Pattern walks through the options. What gives out first at your house, neighbor?
What to photograph before reporting a cushion fault
- Take clear photos, or a short video, of the problem
- Show the whole piece from about 3 feet (1 m) back and a close-up of the seam, zipper or damage
- Say what you ordered: size, fabric code and piping
- Say which fix you would prefer: a remade part, a repair or a partial refund
A photo taken the day a seam gives is worth more than any story told a month later.

Buyer questions
- A common question
Is there a warranty, or can I send things back?
The workshop's answerAsk the workshop directly for its warranty terms, and check the listing's return terms for a change of mind; in past cases the buyer paid the return shipping. Any request goes better with photos or video. For a fault such as loose stitching, send a close-up photo the day you find it.
- A common question
Does the sofa have a warranty?
The workshop's answerThe workshop states its own terms, so ask before you order. It cites high-quality fabric and foam, with stainless metal parts. If a part arrives faulty, photograph it the day the box opens and message the workshop with the photo.
- A common question
What if the cushions droop, or get damaged on the way?
The workshop's answerPhotograph the problem and message the workshop the day you see it. In that conversation the workshop said it stood behind its quality, and in one past case of loose stitching a new cover was made and sent at its cost.
- A common question
A tufting button popped off my floor cushion. What now?
The workshop's answerSpare buttons come with the order, and the workshop sends a video showing how to sew one back through the cushion. If you'd rather not, it has offered to refund a local tailor's fee.
Questions buyers ask next
Is a cushion I no longer like a warranty matter?
Treat it as a separate conversation. A change of mind isn't a fault, so the listing's return terms apply rather than any warranty; read them before you order. In past cases the buyer paid return shipping and the refund followed once the piece arrived back undamaged, and some buyers kept the piece for a partial refund instead.
Do I need photos to report a fault?
Yes. Photo or video evidence of the problem comes first, whether it is a seam, a zipper or transit damage. It lets the workshop see the fault, and in past cases it has meant replacing only the affected part rather than the whole order.
What if a cushion was made to my own wrong measurement?
Then it isn't a workshop fault, and it's a return or remake conversation rather than a warranty one. Buyers in that spot have returned the piece at their own shipping cost, kept it for a partial refund, or ordered the right size at cost; ask the workshop which it offers.
