The quick answer

A custom cushion is made by hand to order before it ships, so production time depends on the piece: simple pieces are quickest, most custom orders take longer and bigger orders longer still. Busy weeks or late foam deliveries can stretch that, so ask the workshop for current times in writing. The tracking number arrives the moment the order goes to the courier.

Why nobody can swear to the exact day

Pull up a chair, neighbor, because this is the honest part. Every piece is 100% handmade and made to order. When the workshop is carrying around 200 open orders, or foam from the factory arrives late, the week can stretch, and a good shop tells you so instead of guessing.

What you can count on is the tracking number. It goes out as soon as the order is handed to the courier. If you have a date to hit, the personalization note is where the deadline goes, and the quote checklist keeps the back-and-forth short.

A real project

The order placed after supper

A buyer wrote to the workshop one evening with the question every porch-sitter asks: if we order tonight, when will it ship? The answer came back plain: that order was quoted at about 7-9 days to make, then about 3-5 days to deliver.

Then the fine print, said kindly. With around 200 orders open, the workshop could aim for a handover day but could not promise it to the hour. That buyer ordered anyway, knowing the real shape of the wait, and that is all a person needs.

A handmade custom cushion's making time is confirmed with the quote, and the tracking number is sent the day the order reaches the courier.

Buyer questions

  1. A common question

How long will a custom cushion take before you ship it?

    The workshop's answer

It depends on the piece, neighbor. Simple bench cushions go to the courier soonest, while bigger or more complex jobs take longer. One custom bay-window cover was quoted at 10-14 days in total at most.

  2. A common question

How long does a custom cushion take to make and deliver to the US?

    The workshop's answer

Production comes first and depends on the piece, then US delivery follows the handover to the courier. One US order was quoted at about 7-9 days to make, then about 3-5 days to deliver. Because every piece is handmade, a very tight deadline can't always be met.

  3. A common question

Do large, curved or complex cushions take longer?

    The workshop's answer

Yes. Standard cushions are quickest, customized pieces take longer, curved or complex shapes and large outdoor projects longer again, and one-off master-craftsman pieces longest of all, plus delivery.

  4. A common question

Is there anything ready-made that ships faster?

    The workshop's answer

Often, yes: in-stock floor sofas and 28 x 56 in (71 x 142 cm) cushion sets have gone out sooner, because custom cushions are cut and sewn by hand first. Stock changes, so check that your pick is on hand.

Questions buyers ask next

Can I get my cushions by a specific date?

Sometimes, if you order right away and write the deadline in the order note. Past orders were flagged urgent and shipped express, but last-minute holiday deadlines haven't always been possible.

Why is my order taking longer than the quote?

Usually a busy stretch with 200-300 active orders, a fabric delay at the mill, or a remake after a fault turns up in the final quality check. If the fabric is the holdup, you can switch colors or wait.

When do I get a tracking number?

As soon as the order is handed to the courier. Production time ends at that handover, and US delivery follows it; the tracking page shows the carrier's own estimate.
