An ivory linen-look modular floor sofa, and the room before and after it
A low sofa built from cushions, in the palest color the room allows. What changes when the seat stops being the loudest thing in the room.
The quick answer
An ivory modular floor sofa suits a sunny, pale room because it blends into the walls and lets one textile or rug carry the color. The pieces are square-edged and firmly filled: stacked base layers, loose back cushions and block arms. Ask for removable covers if the sofa will see daily use.

Five pins: three on the sofa, two on the things that give the room its color.

- Ivory arm block
Squared arm blocks give the soft sofa a crisp edge.
- Loose back cushions
Plump back cushions soften the long, low line.
- Stacked base layers
The visible seam between layers adds a subtle horizontal line.
- Kilim panel
The textile's rust tones are the main color against all-white seating.
- Olive tree
Gray-green leaves echo the linen-look texture.

The room without it, then with it
Picture the room without the sofa. Limewashed walls, an arched doorway, a stone console, a framed kilim. It is already quiet. It has one color, the rust in the kilim, and a great deal of pale.
Now put a dark sofa in it. The sofa becomes the subject. Every eye goes there first, and the kilim loses its job.
This one is ivory. It almost disappears into the wall, and the room reads as one soft volume. The kilim keeps its job. So do the terracotta urns.
The sofa is built from cushions. Stacked base layers, with a fine seam between them that draws a quiet horizontal line along the length. Loose back cushions, plump, to soften the long low shape. Square block arms at each end, to give something soft a crisp edge.
Light from the arched doorway falls across the backs and shows the weave. A linen-look fabric needs that side light. Under flat overhead light, ivory goes flat too.
The olive tree is there for its leaves. Gray-green, the same dry tone as the woven texture.
Height is a feeling. A floor sofa sits low, so the wall above it looks taller and the room looks larger. Keep some floor visible around it.
Modular floor sofas are laid out straight, as an L, or around a corner; the layouts Pattern draws them. The linen-look weaves are in the Swatch Library.
What is the one color your room already has?
One pale piece. One colored textile. The room decides the rest.
