Where 118 inches comes from

Angles are just lengths in disguise, and an L is two rectangles. Each section is 79 in (200 cm) long and 39 in (100 cm) deep. Lay one along the long wall, turn the other into the corner, and the long side reads 79 + 39 = 118 in (300 cm). The short side is the second section's own 79 in.

Four seat cushions over two sections means two per section, which is where the roughly 14 in (35 cm) height comes from. The open corner trades one L-shaped backrest for a straight one and leaves the corner without a back, a seat you can step into.
