# A kids floor sofa palette in ochre, rust and cream, ordered by code

*Three colors, nested. The order that brings them home should be just as tidy.*

> **The quick answer:** To order a multi-color kids floor sofa or play arch, type the exact fabric code for every piece in the personalization note, list any spare covers as separate lines, and confirm the full list when the shop replies. Color numbers can change between charts, so check the current chart. When the delivery comes, check every item against that list.

![Ochre corduroy rainbow play arch with a rust middle arch and cream dome on a jute rug, knit bear on a peg rail](https://cushionguide.com/media/kids-floor-sofas/ochre-rust-cream-corduroy-rainbow-arch-playroom-1600.webp "Mustard outside, rust in the middle and cream at the core make a warm autumn palette.")

## Ochre outside, cream at the core

The biggest piece wears the loudest color. That is the whole idea of this kids floor sofa.

Ochre corduroy on the outer arch. Rust, one step deeper, on the middle arch. Cream on the dome at the center. The eye travels inward and stops on the light.

The room stays quiet so the arch can speak. Cream walls. Linen curtains. A knit bear on a wooden peg rail, a hanging rope basket, a woven basket on the floor, a book ledge on the wall. Texture, no new color.

The rug matters more than it looks. A pale star-dotted rug sits between the arch and the oak floor. Without it, warm ochre on warm wood would blur into one tone. If your floors are warm oak, this palette picks them up.

Three colors means three codes. Write them down before anything else.

- Outer arch: one code.
- Middle arch: one code.
- Dome: one code.
- Spare covers: their own lines, their own codes.

Then hold real [fabric swatches](https://cushionguide.com/guides/fabric-swatches-before-ordering/) against the floor before you send the note. How many pieces are in yours?

More pieces for small rooms live in [kids floor sofas](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/kids-floor-sofas/) and [kids' room cushions](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/kids-room-cushions/). The fabric is [corduroy](https://cushionguide.com/fabrics/corduroy/).

## The swatch strip: an autumn afternoon

- Ochre — #C4902F — Outer arch. The largest piece carries the strongest color.
- Rust — #A24A2A — Middle arch. One step deeper, it frames the core.
- Cream — #EEE5D3 — Dome. A bright stop at the center.
- Warm oak — #B9884F — The floor the ochre picks up.
- Star-dotted rug — #E6DCC8 — A pale layer between the arch and the wood.

## Pinned by Hana: five points in the playroom

Five pins, from the ochre outer arch to the knit bear on the peg rail.

1. **Ochre outer arch**: The strongest color goes on the biggest piece, so the set reads as a statement.
2. **Rust middle arch**: Rust sits one shade deeper and frames the cream core.
3. **Cream dome**: The light dome gives the eye a bright stop at the center.
4. **Knit bear**: Natural knit and rope add texture without adding color.
5. **Star-dotted rug**: A pale rug keeps the warm arch from blending into the oak floor.

## The spare cover that fell off the form

A family wrote to the workshop about a kids' corner cushion for a reading spot in their daughter's bedroom. At first they thought 39 3/8 x 39 3/8 in (100 x 100 cm) was too large, and the shop offered 31 1/2 x 31 1/2 in (80 x 80 cm). They kept the larger size after all.

They also wanted a spare cover in blue. That line had dropped off the order form. The shop added it back.

The pink cushion arrived. The daughter loved it. The blue spare cover was not in the box, so the shop made it and sent it separately.

Two habits come out of this. Order a spare cover in a second color for kids' pieces. Check every item when the delivery comes. The [personalization note guide](https://cushionguide.com/guides/custom-cushion-personalization-note/) shows how to write each line.

## Buyer questions: codes, foam and a bed on the floor

**A common question:** Your color numbers seem to have changed. Is the pink I knew as number 15 the same as the new number?

**The workshop's answer:** Yes. The pink velvet that used to be number 15 is number 119 on the updated chart, same material and same shade. Because the old dropdown numbers no longer matched the chart, the shop removed the color dropdown. Type your exact color code in the personalization note.

**A common question:** A floor sofa I saw elsewhere uses T30 foam with an ILD of 45. Is yours the same, and will it wear out sooner?

**The workshop's answer:** The shop's foam is T28 with an ILD of 42, slightly softer on paper. The shop says the difference is almost nothing and points to reviews from buyers who have tried both.

**A common question:** Will the teddy floor sofa sit on a low platform bed, and can it turn into a bed?

**The workshop's answer:** The teddy sofa base is 39 x 78 in (99 x 198 cm). Laid side by side, the seat cushions come out at roughly king-bed size, so the sofa suits a king-size tatami platform.

## On the cutting table: the autumn arch

| | |
|---|---|
| Product | Kids floor sofa, rainbow play arch in three nested pieces |
| Fabric | Corduroy |
| Colors | Ochre outer arch, rust middle arch, cream dome |
| Edge | Box edge |
| Piping | None |
| Room | Cream playroom with peg rail, rope basket and book ledge |
| Order note | One fabric code per piece, typed out |
| Spare | A second-color cover on its own line |
| Best for | Playrooms and reading corners with warm oak floors |

> **Tailor's margin:** Write one fabric code per piece in the order note. A three-color play arch means three codes, plus a line for each spare cover.

> On a kids floor sofa, put the strongest color on the biggest piece. Ochre outside, rust in the middle and cream at the core reads as one planned palette.

## Questions buyers ask next

### How many fabric codes do I need for a multi-color play arch?

One per piece. A three-piece arch in ochre, rust and cream needs three codes, and every spare cover needs its own line and code in the personalization note so nothing drops off the order.

### Is a spare cover worth ordering for a kids floor cushion?

A spare cover in a second color gives a kids' piece a second look and a backup. List it on its own line and check that it is in the delivery, since one family's spare cover went missing from the box.

### What size should a kids corner cushion be?

It depends on the corner and the child. One family weighed 31 1/2 in (80 cm) square against 39 3/8 in (100 cm) square for a bedroom reading spot and chose the larger size in the end.

### Why put a pale rug under a warm-colored floor sofa?

Warm ochre and rust on warm oak can blur into one tone. A pale rug between them gives the pieces an edge, so each color reads on its own.
