## Three questions before the reading

**The workshop's answer:** Length, width and thickness of the mattress, for example 79 x 31 1/2 x 8 5/8 in (200 x 80 x 22 cm). If no thickness is given, the workshop may assume a two-layer mattress and make the cover twice as thick, so always state it.

## Reading a narrow office

The room has two jobs. Work by day, a guest by night. The daybed faces the desk across a strip of floor, and that strip is the whole plan.

## A stain, a wait, and a better idea

A buyer waited through a busy season for a daybed set. When it came, one back cushion cover had a mildew-type stain. The replacement took longer still, because the fabric arrived from the mill defective and had to be reordered.
