# A blush corduroy kids floor sofa, read for height and depth

*A pink play couch beside a pine toddler bed. Two stacked slabs, a back, two bolster arms. The numbers are small. They matter.*

> **The quick answer:** A kids floor sofa takes its seat height from stacked cushions, not legs. Two 6.7 in (17 cm) layers put the top about 13.5 in (34 cm) off the floor, and that height can be raised to order. One 8 in (20 cm) slab still gives floor-sofa comfort. The backrest and bolster arms take depth from the seat, so check what is left for sitting.

## Pinned by Hana: 5 places to look on the play couch

Five pins, from the grayed blush pillow to the pale star decals above the bed.

1. **Blush round pillow**: A grayed pink keeps the color gentle next to the sage wall.
2. **Front bolster**: The bolster's ribs run around its length, catching light in thin stripes.
3. **Base cushions**: Box-edged slabs keep a crisp outline even in a soft color.
4. **Plush toys on rug**: Toys left on the floor show the couch is lived with, not staged.
5. **Star wall decals**: Small pale decals add pattern above without competing with the sofa.

## Why the play couch stands on stacked layers, not legs

The couch has no legs. Its height is a stack.

Two box-edged slabs make the base, and their outline stays crisp even in a soft color. A backrest stands behind them. Two blush bolsters form the arms, and two round pillows lean against the back. Each of those pieces takes a few inches from the seat. What remains is the depth a child actually sits on.

That is the proportion to read here. A thicker base lifts the seat toward a small table. A thinner one keeps it close to the rug, for lying down and climbing. Children measure comfort with their whole body, so they will use it both ways.

There is no piping. The corduroy ribs already run around the bolsters and catch the light in thin stripes. A cord would add one line too many.

The color works because it is grayed. Blush and sage sit near opposite sides of the wheel, but both are muted here, so they rest together. The pine toddler bed, the small table and chairs and the white cubbies share one pale palette of wood and white, which leaves the couch as the only colored object. The star and moon decals stay small above it. The plush elephant and bunny on the jute rug say the couch is used, not staged.

How high is the table your child draws at? Sit on the floor beside it before you choose. The [seat height calculator](https://cushionguide.com/studio/seat-height-calculator/) and the [kids floor sofa size guide](https://cushionguide.com/guides/kids-floor-sofa-size-by-age/) help with the numbers. More builds live under [kids floor sofas](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/kids-floor-sofas/) and in the [corduroy](https://cushionguide.com/fabrics/corduroy/) library.

One pink piece.
Everything else wood and white.
The room stays calm.

## Three ways to build the height

| Build | Top of seat from the floor | How it sits |
|---|---|---|
| One slab, 8 in (20 cm) | About 8 in (20 cm) | Low floor-sofa comfort, easy to climb and lie on |
| Two stacked layers, 6.7 in (17 cm) each | About 13.5 in (34 cm) | A small couch at child height |
| Stacked, height raised to order | Above 13.5 in (34 cm) | Closer to a grown-up seat, for an added charge |

## The triangle that became a rectangle

A buyer got in touch about a children's reading corner. They liked the triangular kids' corner cushion, but their corner needed a rectangle: about 31.5 x 39.5 in (80 x 100 cm), in beige.

The shop said yes. Order the nearest size option, it explained, and write the exact size in the order note. The cushion was made 8 in (20 cm) thick.

That thickness is the point. One 8 in slab on the floor gives a child real floor-sofa comfort without a second layer. A corner design does not have to stay a corner. The [play build sketches](https://cushionguide.com/concepts/kids-floor-sofa-play-builds/) show more shapes.

## Buyer questions: heights, a brick color and a store order

**A common question:** How high is the corner sofa from the floor to the top of the cushions? It looks a little low for me.

**The workshop's answer:** About 13.5 in (34 cm), made of two 6.7 in (17 cm) cushions stacked. The height can be increased for an extra charge.

**A common question:** I want an extra corner cushion to finish a conversation pit. Does your brick color match the rust on another brand's sofa?

**The workshop's answer:** Not exactly. The shop's brick is closer to that brand's orange than to its rust.

**A common question:** We run a furniture store. Can we order teddy couches in bulk at a wholesale price, and how fast can they arrive?

**The workshop's answer:** Yes. The shop first asks how many you need. Express delivery is faster but costs more, so it suggests sending the urgent units express and the rest by slower, cheaper freight.

> **Tailor's margin:** Sit on the floor where the couch will go. From there, 13.5 in (34 cm) looks the way your child will feel it.

## Questions buyers ask next

### What thickness suits a toddler's floor sofa seat?

Real builds run from one 8 in (20 cm) slab, which gives floor-sofa comfort, to two stacked 6.7 in (17 cm) layers at about 13.5 in (34 cm). The single slab suits climbing and lying down; the stack suits sitting up at a small table.

### Can a triangular kids' corner cushion be made as a rectangle?

Yes. One buyer needed a rectangle of about 31.5 x 39.5 in (80 x 100 cm), 8 in (20 cm) thick. The shop confirmed it: order the nearest size option and write the exact size in the order note.

### Why is there no piping on a corduroy play couch?

The corduroy ribs already draw lines across every face, and the box edge keeps the outline crisp. A piped cord would add a third line to a piece that already has enough, so the ribs are left to carry the detail.

### Does blush pink clash with sage walls in a kids' room?

Not when both are grayed down. Blush and sage sit near opposite sides of the color wheel, but muted versions of each read soft together, especially when the furniture around them is pale wood and white.
