# Do you have teddy, sherpa or bouclé fabric for cushions?

*Most of my days go to canvas that fights the rain. Teddy sits at the other end of the rope: soft, deep, and the nearest thing to bouclé on the workshop's charts.*

Also asked as: Do you have teddy fabric?; Do y'all have sherpa?

> **The quick answer:** Teddy fabric, with its own color chart, is the closest match to bouclé, and a curly, knotted bouclé collection coded 0- appears on the trapezoid listing. Teddy is polyester and costs more than the velvet or the easy-clean soft fabric. The linen is not a bouclé, since it has no looped yarn, and the velvet is polyester, not silk.

## Key facts

- Teddy fabric has its own color chart.
- Teddy is the closest option to bouclé on the charts.
- A curly, knotted bouclé collection coded 0- appears on the trapezoid listing.
- Teddy fabric is polyester.
- Teddy costs more than the velvet or the soft fabric.
- The linen fabric is not a bouclé; it has no looped yarn.
- The velvet is a soft, durable polyester velvet, not silk velvet.

## Teddy is the nearest thing to bouclé on the charts

The fuzzy-fabric question usually arrives in one breath: teddy, sherpa or bouclé? The answer is teddy. It has its own color chart, and the workshop counts it as the nearest option to [bouclé](https://cushionguide.com/glossary/#boucle).

True bouclé does turn up in one place. A collection coded 0-, with a curly, knotted face, sits on the [trapezoid cushion](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/trapezoid-cushions/) listing. If you want the real loop, start there.

Teddy is polyester, and it costs more than the velvet or the easy-clean soft fabric. Like good foul-weather gear, you pay for the loft.

## Three fabrics that are not bouclé

- ✗ The linen: no looped yarn in it. Ask for close-ups and you can check the texture yourself.
- ✗ The velvet: soft and durable, but polyester velvet, not silk.
- ✗ Teddy itself: the closest look, but a polyester pile, not a looped bouclé yarn.

## Where a teddy cover earns its keep

In my trade, canvas takes the weather. Teddy takes the living room. It suits the pieces you sink into: a [floor cushion](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/floor-cushions/), a pouf, a stack of throw pillows. One order paired two 18 x 18 in (46 x 46 cm) pillow covers with a 19 x 19 in (48 x 48 cm) one, all in beige teddy.

Loops and pile can catch on a ring or a claw, friend. The [bouclé and teddy care Pattern](https://cushionguide.com/guides/boucle-teddy-cushions-snags-care/) covers snags and brushing, and the [bouclé and teddy swatch family](https://cushionguide.com/fabrics/boucle-and-teddy/) lays the textures side by side.

Which room is your teddy cushion headed for?

> **Tailor's margin:** If you want true bouclé loops, look for the 0- collection on the trapezoid listing; everywhere else, teddy is the nearest match.

> The linen on the cushion charts is not bouclé because it has no looped yarn; teddy, a polyester pile, is the closest bouclé look.

## Buyer questions

**A common question:** Do you carry teddy, sherpa or bouclé fabric?

**The workshop's answer:** Teddy, yes. It comes with its own color chart, and the workshop considers it very close to bouclé.

**A common question:** What are the teddy, velvet and linen made of, and is the linen a bouclé?

**The workshop's answer:** Teddy and velvet are both polyester; the velvet is a soft, durable polyester velvet, not natural silk velvet. The linen is not a bouclé and has no yarn-loop construction. Close-up photos are sent so you can check the texture.

**A common question:** Which fabrics can I choose from for a custom cushion?

**The workshop's answer:** Three main indoor families, linen, velvet and the easy-clean soft fabric, each with a chart of roughly 40 colors, plus teddy, corduroy, 100% cotton or linen, faux leather and a water-repellent outdoor range. Thousands more fabrics can be sourced on request.

**A common question:** Is everything plain, or do you have patterned fabrics too?

**The workshop's answer:** Mostly plain colors, but stripes, oriental designs, plaid and tartan, patterned velvets and animal prints sit on extra charts. A print you found elsewhere can sometimes be sourced from a photo, at a higher price.

## Questions buyers ask next

### Can I see the texture before I choose between teddy and bouclé?

Yes. The shop sends close-up photos of its fabrics so you can check the texture, which is how buyers confirm the linen has no loops. Ask for close-ups of teddy and the 0- bouclé in the same message.

### Does teddy cost more than velvet?

Yes. Teddy is priced above both the polyester velvet and the easy-clean soft fabric. Velvet gives a soft hand for less; teddy gives the deeper, fleecy pile that reads closest to bouclé.

### Which listing carries true bouclé?

The trapezoid cushion listing carries a bouclé collection coded 0-, with a curly, knotted texture. For other shapes, teddy is the closest option, so ask in messages if you want the 0- fabric on a different cushion.
