# How do I send my drawing if the order form only takes one photo?

*The form takes one photo. You have three, each covered in numbers. Here's the workaround, in order.*

Also asked as: It will only let me upload 1 photo; How do I send multiple drawings?

> **The quick answer:** Upload the one image the order form allows, write 'drawings sent via message' in the personalization note, then send the rest in the order conversation; merging several photos into one image also works. If the chat won't take attachments yet, wait for the workshop's first reply, or send the drawings by email. Every edge on the drawing needs a measurement.

## Key facts

- Upload one image with the order and send the other drawings in the order messages.
- Write 'drawings sent via message' in the personalization note.
- Several photos merged into one image are accepted.
- Some order platforms only allow attachments after the seller has replied once.
- Sketches can also be sent by email or WhatsApp.
- Every edge of a custom-shape drawing should be measured and labeled.
- Two different shapes are two separate orders, each with its own drawing.
- Measurements can be given in inches to the nearest ¼ in, and finished cushions can differ from the drawing by about 0.5-1 in.
- Quarter-round corner cushions are sized by their two straight sides, up to 48 in as standard.

## The one-photo workaround, in four moves

1. **Upload your best single image**: Pick the drawing with the most measurements on it and upload it with the order.
2. **Flag the rest in the note**: Write 'drawings sent via message' in the personalization box, so nobody cuts from one photo alone.
3. **Send the others in the conversation**: Attach the remaining drawings in the order messages, or merge them into one image first.
4. **If attachments are blocked, wait or email**: Some platforms allow attachments only after the workshop replies once. If the app still refuses, send them by email or WhatsApp.

## What the drawing itself has to carry

The upload is the easy part, partner. The drawing is the part that gets cut. Show the whole shape, write a measurement on every edge, and label the edges A, B, C, so a follow-up message can say 'edge B' without confusion. A bistro chair pad with a rounded back is still just a list of honest measurements.

The [custom-shape drawing Pattern](https://cushionguide.com/guides/custom-shape-cushion-drawing/) shows the layout, and the [paper template Pattern](https://cushionguide.com/guides/paper-template-for-custom-cushion/) helps when a curve won't sit still for a tape measure. For chair pads, start with [dining chair pad measurements](https://cushionguide.com/guides/dining-chair-pad-measurements/).

## Two odd shapes means two orders

If two of your cushions are funky shapes, place them as separate orders on the custom-shape listing, each with its own drawing uploaded. One order, one shape, one drawing: nothing gets crossed at the cutting table. For angled seats, run the numbers through the [trapezoid cushion calculator](https://cushionguide.com/studio/trapezoid-cushion-calculator/) first, and browse [trapezoid cushions](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/trapezoid-cushions/) for the shapes that come up most. How many edges does your odd one have?

> **Tailor's margin:** When the order form takes only one photo, upload the best drawing and write 'drawings sent via message' in the personalization note.

## Buyer questions

**A common question:** The form only takes one photo, but I have three measurement photos. What now?

**The workshop's answer:** Upload the one you can and write 'drawings sent via message' in the personalization, then send all the photos in the conversation. Merging them into one image works too.

**A common question:** How do I send a sketch of my seat if the app won't let me attach it?

**The workshop's answer:** Drawings can be attached in the order conversation. If the app blocks the upload (sometimes attachments only open up after the workshop has replied once), send it by email or WhatsApp instead. The sketch should show the whole shape with every measurement written on it.

**A common question:** Can two different custom shapes go in one order?

**The workshop's answer:** Place them as separate orders through the custom-shape listing, each with its own drawing, a measurement on every edge and ideally labeled. If your first message won't take an attachment, add it once the workshop has replied.

**A common question:** What measurements does a trapezoid bay window cushion need?

**The workshop's answer:** Every edge (front, back, both angled sides, any clipped corners or end sides) plus the straight depth and thickness, on a labeled drawing with a photo of the space. Measure each angled side separately.

## Questions buyers ask next

### Is a hand sketch good enough for a custom cushion?

Yes, if it shows the whole shape with a measurement written on every edge. Labeling the edges helps, and for bay windows and angled benches a photo of the space alongside the sketch helps too.

### Why can't I attach a photo to my first message?

Some order platforms only allow attachments once the seller has replied. Send a short text message first; once the workshop answers, attach the drawings, or send them by email if the app still blocks them.

### Does each custom cushion shape need its own order?

For two different custom shapes, yes. Each goes on the custom-shape listing as its own order with its own drawing uploaded, so each cushion is cut from the right set of measurements.
