# Can I pay extra to rush my custom cushion order?

*Everybody's got a date: a housewarming, a porch party, family coming in for the holidays. Here's what paying for priority really buys, and what it can't.*

Also asked as: Is it possible to expedite delivery?; Is there an option to pay extra for a rush order?

> **The quick answer:** Often, yes: paid priority production moves your custom cushion order to the front of the queue so it reaches the carrier sooner. Send your measurements and fabric choice first, then add the separate express fee listing to your cart with the order. The fee is quoted per order, the delivery window is confirmed when you pay, and a deadline only a few days away can't be met.

## Key facts

- Paid priority production is available.
- Priority orders move to the front of a queue that can exceed 200 active orders.
- Measurements, fabric code and any sketch come first; work can't start without them.
- The fee is paid through a separate express fee listing, quoted per order and higher for large orders.
- The workshop confirms the delivery window when you pay.
- A deadline only a few days away can't be met, even with priority.
- If a deadline is missed, the order can be held and shipped when you're back home.

## Before you pay for a rush cushion order

- ✓ Measurements final, every side.
- ✓ Fabric code chosen, and a sketch sent for any custom shape.
- ✓ Your deadline written in the order note.
- ✓ The express fee listing added to your cart with the order.
- ✓ The delivery window confirmed by the workshop when you pay.

## What priority can't do

- ✗ Beat a date only a few days out: a request that close, for a party, had to be declined.
- ✗ Guarantee a date in the standard queue when more than 250 orders are active.
- ✗ Make expediting easy in high-volume periods; the workshop has called it difficult then.
- ✗ Start work before your fabric code and measurements are in.

## How the queue actually moves

Pull up a chair, neighbor, and picture a line at the fabric counter. On a busy day the workshop has 200 or more orders in it, and each one is cut and sewn by hand before it goes to the carrier.

Priority production lifts your order to the front of that line, so it reaches the carrier sooner. Ask for the ship date and transit time in writing when you pay, put the deadline in the order note, and leave a margin; last-minute holiday deadlines may not be met.

## The order that made it, and the party that came too soon

A buyer got in touch needing an order by a firm date while more than 250 orders were in the queue. The workshop moved it to the front for an extra fee, and it shipped in time.

Another buyer hoped for cushions within a few days, for a party. That one had to be declined; no queue moves that fast. For anyone whose date slips anyway, the workshop can hold the finished order and ship it when you're back home.

> **Tailor's margin:** Paid priority gets a custom cushion to the carrier sooner, but no fee turns a party a few days away into a delivery.

## Buyer questions

**A common question:** Can I pay for a rush so my cushion arrives before an event?

**The workshop's answer:** Often, yes: a rush fee moves your order to the front of the queue, which can be over 200 orders. Whether that beats your event depends on how far off it is, so write the date in the order note and get the handover date when you pay.

**A common question:** Can you expedite my order during a busy season?

**The workshop's answer:** During high-volume periods expediting is difficult, but the workshop can move an order into priority production for an additional fee and confirms the delivery window when you pay.

**A common question:** Can I pay for a rush job so my cushions arrive by a certain date?

**The workshop's answer:** Yes. Priority production moves your cushions to the front of the queue. Send your measurements and fabric choice first, then add the express fee listing to your cart with the order.

**A common question:** Can I get my cushions by a specific date for a get-together?

**The workshop's answer:** Often worth asking, if you order right away and write the deadline in the order note. Orders like that have been flagged urgent, but last-minute holiday deadlines may not be possible, so get the workshop's answer before you pay.

## Questions buyers ask next

### How long does a custom cushion take without paying for priority?

It depends on the shape, the size and how busy the workshop is: each cushion is made by hand before it ships. Simple cushions are the quickest, big or special orders the slowest. Ask for current production and delivery times before you order.

### Is the rush fee the same for every order?

No. It's quoted per order and runs higher for large, multi-piece orders. Ask for the figure along with your measurements, and the workshop confirms the delivery window when you pay.

### What happens if my cushions miss the date anyway?

The workshop can hold the finished order and ship it when you're back home, so the parcel doesn't sit on an empty porch while you're away. Say so in a message as soon as you know.
