Here is which choices stretch the calendar, so the family movie night lands on the right weekend.* Also asked as: Is there a possibility for a fabric pattern?; How much extra time for delivery? > **The quick answer:** Yes, a custom fabric or size adds time to a modular floor sofa. The corduroy colors shown on the listing are the quickest to make and ship, while any other fabric from the full chart takes longer, a sold-out fabric has to be woven again, and a custom size adds production days. Ask the workshop for dates in writing before you order. ![Rust orange and cream velvet floor sofa on a jute rug, with pampas on a rattan table, wicker baskets and stacked books](https://cushionguide.com/media/modular-floor-sofas/rust-cream-floor-sofa-boho-corner-rattan-table-1600.webp "Rust velvet ends pick up the jute rug, rattan table and baskets around this floor-level sofa.") ## Key facts - Corduroy colors shown on the listing are the quickest to make and ship. - Any full-chart fabric, patterns included, can be used, and takes longer. - The H11 light-blue cotton-linen blend has taken the longest. - A sold-out fabric that must be rewoven adds time. - A custom size adds production days and goes in the order note. ## Your fabric-and-size clock - ✓ Corduroy color shown on the listing: the quickest to make and ship. - ✓ Any other full-chart fabric, patterns included: longer. - ✓ H11 light-blue cotton-linen blend: the longest so far. - ✓ Fabric sold out and rewoven: add the reweave time. - ✓ Custom sofa size: adds production days. ## Why the fabric choice sets the sofa's calendar Pull up a chair. When a family picks a sofa, the fabric talk runs long and the calendar talk runs short, and that is backwards. Stay with the [corduroy](https://cushionguide.com/fabrics/corduroy/) colors shown on the listing and your [modular floor sofa](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/modular-floor-sofas/) is the quickest to make and ship. Step off that shelf and the calendar stretches; a sold-out fabric even has to be woven again. None of that is a reason to settle. Any fabric on the full chart can be used, patterns too. Just plan for it, ask for the dates, and write a custom size straight into the order note; no separate message needed. The [modular floor sofa layouts Pattern](https://cushionguide.com/guides/modular-floor-sofa-layouts/) helps you settle the size first, and the [personalization note Pattern](https://cushionguide.com/guides/custom-cushion-personalization-note/) shows how to word it. What date are you counting back from, neighbor? ## Before you place the order - ✓ Look at the customer photos in the listing reviews to see a color in real homes. - ✓ Ask whether your fabric is in stock; a rewoven one adds time. - ✓ Write your custom size in the order note. - ✓ Name your deadline before ordering, not after. > **Tailor's margin:** A custom floor sofa size adds production days; write the size in the order note and skip the back-and-forth. > Corduroy colors shown on the modular sofa listing are the quickest; any other full-chart fabric takes longer, so ask for the date. > > — Rosa ## Buyer questions **A common question:** Can I get the modular sofa in a patterned fabric, and does that take longer? **The workshop's answer:** Yes, any fabric from the full chart works, but production then takes longer, so ask for the date. The corduroy colors on the sofa listing are the quickest, and the customer photos in the listing reviews show colors in real homes. **A common question:** How much longer for a fabric that isn't standard for this sofa? **The workshop's answer:** Standard fabrics are the quickest. Others take longer, and some, like the H11 light-blue cotton-linen blend, longer still. If a fabric sells out and has to be woven again, add the reweave time; the workshop gives the current timeline with the quote. **A common question:** How much time does a custom size add, and where do I write it? **The workshop's answer:** Some extra production time, so ask the workshop for the new date. Simply put the custom size in the order note. **A common question:** Can I pay to rush my order? **The workshop's answer:** Often, yes. Rush orders have been handled with a separate express fee listing, and the workshop confirms the dispatch date and delivery window for your order before you pay. ## Questions buyers ask next ### Can the workshop promise my floor sofa by a set date? Not with certainty. The workshop has prioritized orders and shipped them on an agreed day, but carriers can still run late. Tell it your deadline before ordering and it will say whether the date is realistic. ### How long is delivery once the sofa has shipped? Ask the workshop for the express delivery time to the US after dispatch. Add that to the production time for your fabric and size, leave a margin, and you have a fair picture of when the sofa reaches your living room. ### Are event dates a few weeks away realistic for a custom sofa? Often worth asking, if you order right away and write the deadline in the order note. The order can be flagged urgent and shipped express, but last-minute holiday deadlines may not be possible, so get the workshop's answer before you order. ## Related at the atelier - [How long does a modular floor sofa take to arrive after I order?](https://cushionguide.com/answers/modular-floor-sofa-delivery-time/): A ready-made modular floor sofa reaches the US sooner than a custom-size one, because a custom length adds its own cutting and sewing before the sofa ships by air express with UPS or FedEx. - [Can I order the floor sofa now at the sale price and have it delivered after I move?](https://cushionguide.com/answers/buy-now-ship-later-after-move/): Yes, you can order the floor sofa now at the current price and have delivery held until after your move. - [The listing shows a delivery estimate.
