# Is Klarna the only payment plan, or can I use Affirm or layaway?

*Two plans are on the list and one isn't. Here's the short of it, before you fall for a sofa you'd rather pay for in pieces.*

Also asked as: Do you take Affirm for payment?; Is Klarna the only installment plan?

> **The quick answer:** Klarna is the installment plan at marketplace checkout, and the workshop's own website offers Shop Pay installments instead; Affirm isn't offered. Asked about layaway, the shop points buyers to these installment plans, and one buyer used a pay-in-30-days option at checkout. The plan you see depends on where you place the order.

## Key facts

- Klarna is the installment option at marketplace checkout.
- The workshop's own website offers Shop Pay installments.
- Affirm is not offered.
- For layaway requests, the shop points to its installment options.
- One buyer paid with a pay-in-30-days option at checkout.
- A canceled order is refunded to the original payment method; how fast it shows depends on the bank.
- Changes or cancellation are possible before production starts, so ask the workshop as early as you can.

## Klarna, Shop Pay and pay in 30 days

- ✓ **Klarna**, at marketplace checkout.
- ✓ **Shop Pay installments**, on the workshop's own website.
- ✓ **Pay in 30 days**, an option one buyer chose at checkout.

## Is Affirm or layaway offered?

- ✗ **Affirm.** It isn't offered at either checkout.
- ✗ **Old-style layaway.** Asked about it, the shop pointed to the installment plans instead.

## Three things to settle before checkout

1. **Get the whole price**: Custom cushions and sofas are quoted by size, so ask for every piece in one message and plan around the full total, not the first cushion.
2. **Choose where to order**: The marketplace if you want Klarna; the workshop's own website if you want Shop Pay installments.
3. **Look for the plan at payment**: Installment choices appear at checkout, not in the quote. A pay-in-30-days option has shown up there as well.

## Pick where you order, and the plan follows

The plan belongs to the checkout, not to the sofa. Order on the marketplace and Klarna is the one you'll see; order on the workshop's website and it's Shop Pay. Neither place offers Affirm, so don't go hunting for it, my friend.

Price the whole order before you choose. The [quote checklist](https://cushionguide.com/guides/custom-cushion-quote-what-to-send/) says what to send, and for a [modular floor sofa](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/modular-floor-sofas/) the [floor sofa buying guide](https://cushionguide.com/guides/floor-sofa-buying-guide-height-space/) settles size and height first. Buy the cushion once, cry once. Have you priced the whole set yet, or only the first piece?

> **Tailor's margin:** For a floor sofa on a payment plan, Klarna works at marketplace checkout and Shop Pay installments on the maker's own website; Affirm isn't offered.

> Asked about layaway, the workshop points to installments instead: Klarna at marketplace checkout, or Shop Pay on its own website.

## Buyer questions

**A common question:** Can I pay in installments, say with Affirm?

**The workshop's answer:** The marketplace store offers Klarna installments, and the workshop's own website uses Shop Pay. Affirm isn't among the options.

**A common question:** Is Klarna the only way to pay over time?

**The workshop's answer:** At marketplace checkout, yes. The workshop's own website offers Shop Pay installments.

**A common question:** Do you do layaway, or payments in parts?

**The workshop's answer:** Products can be bought in installments through the available payment options; one buyer used a pay-in-30-days option.

**A common question:** How is a custom window seat cushion priced?

**The workshop's answer:** It's quoted by size (length x depth x thickness), and the quote states the shipping cost. The price rises with size and thickness; fabric barely changes it.

## Questions buyers ask next

### Where do I choose the payment plan?

At checkout. Klarna appears as a payment option at marketplace checkout, and Shop Pay installments appear on the workshop's own website, so pick the storefront first and the plan follows from there.

### Does the workshop run its own financing?

No in-house plan has been described. The installment options are the ones at checkout: Klarna on the marketplace and Shop Pay on the workshop's website, plus the pay-in-30-days option one buyer used.

### What does pay in 30 days mean?

It's a checkout option that defers the full payment by 30 days instead of splitting it into installments. One buyer paid for an order that way; whether it shows up for you depends on the checkout you use.
