# I only received part of my cushion set. Were the pieces shipped separately?

*One box on the porch and the rest nowhere in sight. Usually the second parcel is simply behind the first, riding its own tracking number.*

Also asked as: I ordered 2 but only one came.; Got the cover but not the pillows.

> **The quick answer:** Multi-piece cushion orders ship in separate packages, each with its own tracking number, so the rest of your set is often just a parcel behind. Large parcels often travel by UPS and small ones by FedEx. Check every tracking number and ask your neighbors; if a piece really is missing, message the workshop and ask it to confirm in writing what it will do.

## Key facts

- Multi-piece orders ship in separate packages, each with its own tracking number.
- Large parcels often go by UPS and small ones by FedEx.
- Floor sofa sets usually ship in two packages: the seat in one, the backrest and armrests in the other.
- Parcels from one order can arrive on different days.
- Some sets arrive as two vacuum packs packaged together.
- A truly missing piece is traced with the carrier; in past cases it was remade or resent with a new tracking number.
- A floor sofa roll pack is roughly 45 x 12 x 12 in (110-120 x 30 x 30 cm) and weighs about 18 to 33 lb (8 to 15 kg).
- The metal support bars travel in their own box, about 16 x 16 x 2 in (40 x 40 x 5 cm) and 9 lb (4 kg).

## Which pieces tend to travel apart

| What you ordered | How it usually ships | What the porch sees |
|---|---|---|
| Floor seat with backrest and armrests | Two packages: seat in one, backrest and armrests in the other | The second box shortly after the first |
| Backrests plus bolsters | Separate parcels | Four backrests one day, the bolsters the next |
| Mattress cover with its pillows | Separate parcels | Cover and pillows on different days |
| A pair of cushions | Can be split into two parcels | One cushion first, its twin later |
| Seat, back and arm pillows for a floor couch | Separate FedEx parcels | Arms and back first, seat a day later |
| Cushions plus a steel frame or mattress protector | Their own parcels, large ones often by UPS | Separate delivery days |

## Why one box isn't a lost order

A set that leaves the workshop together doesn't always travel together. Each parcel gets its own label and its own tracking number, and big and small boxes can ride with different carriers. So the porch fills up in stages.

Some sets do come as two [vacuum-packed](https://cushionguide.com/glossary/#vacuum-packing) rolls in one package, so open everything before you count. Then give the foam its first day to breathe; the [first 72 hours Pattern](https://cushionguide.com/guides/vacuum-packed-cushion-first-72-hours/) explains what to expect from a [modular floor sofa](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/modular-floor-sofas/) or a set of cushions coming out of plastic.

How many tracking numbers came with your order, friend?

## Five checks before you call a cushion missing

1. **Count the tracking numbers**: Look through every shipping message; a set can carry two or more.
2. **Check each one with its carrier**: UPS and FedEx parcels from the same order move on their own timetables.
3. **Open every package**: Two vacuum packs can share one box.
4. **Ask the neighbors**: A second parcel is sometimes delivered next door or on a different day.
5. **Then send a message**: Say what arrived and what didn't. The workshop traces the rest with the carrier.

## A seat on the porch, and nothing to lean on

A buyer ordered a floor seat with a backrest and two armrests, and only the seat turned up. This time it wasn't a slow truck: only the seat had been sent. The workshop shipped the backrest and both armrests right away by FedEx, with a new tracking number. That was one case, but it shows the order of things: count the boxes, check every tracking number, then message the workshop.

> **Tailor's margin:** A floor sofa set usually ships as two packages: the seat in one, the backrest and armrests in the other, often landing on different days.

## Buyer questions

**A common question:** Only part of my order came. Is the rest still being made?

**The workshop's answer:** Usually it has already shipped. Larger orders can go as two or more parcels at the same time, each with its own delivery day; in one set, four backrests arrived one day and the bolsters the next.

**A common question:** Half my floor couch is here. Where's the rest of it?

**The workshop's answer:** In a separate package. On one set the arm pillows and back cushion arrived first and the seat cushion came a day later by FedEx. Check every tracking number and ask neighbors, since a second parcel can be delivered separately.

**A common question:** Were the pieces of my order shipped separately?

**The workshop's answer:** Usually, yes: multi-piece orders go in separate packages, each with its own tracking number. A mattress cover and its pillows, a pair of cushions or the parts of a sofa can arrive on different days. If a piece is truly missing, message the workshop with the tracking numbers and a photo of what came.

**A common question:** I only got the seat cushions. Are the backrest and bolsters coming on their own?

**The workshop's answer:** Large sets can ship in several packages, so ask which parcels to expect. If a part doesn't arrive, the workshop traces it with the carrier, and in past cases a lost piece was remade or resent with a new tracking number.

## Questions buyers ask next

### How long after dispatch should every parcel reach a US address?

The delivery estimate that comes with your order counts only transit, from when the carrier collects the parcels, so it can pass before a handmade order has shipped. Exact days can't be guaranteed, which is also why two parcels from the same order can land on different days.

### What happens if the carrier confirms a parcel is lost?

Message the workshop with the tracking numbers and a photo of what did arrive. Once the courier confirms the loss, the workshop works out the fix with you; in past cases a missing piece was remade or resent on the fastest service, with a new tracking number.

### Do two vacuum-packed cushions always come in two boxes?

Not always. Some sets arrive as two vacuum packs packaged together, while larger sets travel as separate parcels. Count the pieces inside each package before deciding one is missing.
