# What sizes does the corner floor cushion come in, and how big can it go?

*A corner cushion has two straight sides and one curve. Three standard patterns, one hard limit on reshaping, and a few honest exceptions.*

Also asked as: Measurements in centimeters, please; Review photos look half the size

> **The quick answer:** The corner floor cushion comes in three standard sizes, all 7.9 in (20 cm) thick: about 32 x 32 in (80 x 80 cm), 39.5 x 39.5 in (100 x 100 cm) and 47 x 47 in (120 x 120 cm). The standard maximum is 48 in per side, though a 58 in custom corner has been quoted, and small ones go down to 25 x 25 in.

## Key facts

- Standard sizes: 32 x 32 in (80 x 80 cm), 39.5 x 39.5 in (100 x 100 cm) and 47 x 47 in (120 x 120 cm), all 7.9 in (20 cm) thick.
- The standard maximum is 48 in (122 cm) per side.
- A 58 in (147 cm) custom corner has been quoted.
- Corner cushions as small as 25 x 25 in (64 x 64 cm) can be made.
- Corner cushions are cut from fixed patterns, so changing the curve is difficult.
- A custom curve needs a drawing with every measurement.
- Review photos vary in apparent size because buyers chose different sizes and camera angles differ.

## Three standard corners and the custom range

| Size | Per side | Thickness | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard small | 32 in (80 cm) | 7.9 in (20 cm) | Orders straight from the listing |
| Standard medium | 39.5 in (100 cm) | 7.9 in (20 cm) | The middle of the three patterns |
| Standard large | 47 in (120 cm) | 7.9 in (20 cm) | The pick if an adult will lie down too |
| Custom small | From 25 in (64 cm) | On request | Made to order |
| Custom large | Up to a quoted 58 in (147 cm) | On request | Past the 48 in (122 cm) standard maximum |

## The curve is the hard part, not the size

Corner cushions are cut from fixed patterns. Sizes outside the standard three have been made or quoted, from 25 in up to 58 in, and a 46 x 46 in (117 x 117 cm) corner was made in green corduroy. Reshaping the curve is harder, because the curve is built into the pattern. That's why a custom curve starts with a drawing, partner, not a size box.

Tolerance is kindness to your future self: measure the floor between the walls, then pick the pattern that fits inside it. The [kids' floor sofas](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/kids-floor-sofas/) and [corner floor cushions](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/corner-floor-cushions/) pages show the shapes in real rooms, and the [quarter-circle sizing pattern](https://cushionguide.com/guides/corner-floor-cushion-quarter-circle-size/) covers measuring the corner itself.

## Drawing a custom curve: four numbers

1. **First straight side**: Along the first wall, from the corner point to the end of the cushion.
2. **Second straight side**: Along the second wall, measured the same way.
3. **Across the curve**: The straight line from one end of the curve to the other; one buyer's was 43 in (109 cm).
4. **Curve center to corner**: From the middle of the curve straight back to the corner point.

## Why review photos look half the size

Because sometimes they are. Buyers choose different sizes, and camera angles vary, so a 32 in corner shot from above sits in the reviews beside a 47 in corner shot from the doorway. Compare numbers, not photos.

How much floor do you have between the two walls?

> **Tailor's margin:** A corner floor cushion comes from a fixed pattern: 32, 39.5 or 47 in per side. Changing the curve is harder than changing the size.

> The corner floor cushion's standard maximum is 48 in per side, and a 58 in custom corner has been quoted beyond it.

## Buyer questions

**A common question:** What sizes does the kids' corner cushion come in, in centimeters? The review photos all look different.

**The workshop's answer:** Three standard sizes: 31½ x 31½ x 7¾ in (80 x 80 x 20 cm), 39¼ x 39¼ x 7¾ in (100 x 100 x 20 cm) and 47¼ x 47¼ x 7¾ in (120 x 120 x 20 cm). Review photos can look different because buyers chose different sizes and camera angles vary.

**A common question:** How big, and how small, can the corner floor cushion be made?

**The workshop's answer:** The standard maximum is 48 in per side. A 58 in custom corner has been quoted, and so has a small 25 x 25 in one. A 46 x 46 in (117 x 117 cm) version was made in green corduroy.

**A common question:** Can the curved corner cushion be made to my own measurements?

**The workshop's answer:** Possibly. Draw the shape on paper with every measurement: the straight line across the curve, the center of the curve to the corner, and both straight sides. These cushions are cut from fixed patterns, so reshaping the curve may be difficult; the 32 x 32 in size can be ordered straight from the listing.

## Questions buyers ask next

### How thick is each standard corner floor cushion?

All three standard corners are 7.9 in (20 cm) thick. The thickness stays the same on the small, medium and large patterns, so choosing a size changes the footprint on the floor, not the height of the seat.

### Which corner size suits a child and a parent together?

The largest standard size, about 47 in (120 cm) per side. Pick it if an adult will stretch out on the cushion as well as the kids, since the two smaller patterns leave less room to lie down.

### Why can't the corner cushion's curve simply be redrawn?

The curve is part of a fixed cutting pattern. A different curve means working from your own drawing instead, which is why the workshop asks for all four measurements first and says plainly if reshaping may be difficult.
