# Can you put my company name and tax number on the invoice?

*Accounts departments are stricter than any piping inspector, and I say that as a piping inspector. Here's how to get the paperwork right on the first ask.*

> **The quick answer:** The invoice can carry your company or organization name, billing address and tax or VAT number: ask, and the workshop issues a new invoice or amends the existing one for your accounts. ## What to send for a business invoice

- ✓ The company or organization name, spelled exactly as your accounts team files it.
- ✓ The billing address, if it differs from the delivery address.
- ✓ Your tax or VAT registration number.
- ✓ The deadline, if there is one, so the invoice goes out straight away.
- ✓ Every piece on the order, so one invoice covers the lot.

## Amend it, don't reorder

Already ordered under your own name? No need to start over, dear. One buyer needed company details and a registration number added for their accounts, and the workshop simply amended the existing invoice.
