# Will my separate orders ship together in one package?

*Not by default. Ask before the boxes leave, and they can travel as one.*

Also asked as: Will both of my orders ship together?; Ship it with the other cushion in progress

> **The quick answer:** Not by default: separate orders ship in separate packages, each with its own tracking number, timed to go out around the same time. Ask before dispatch and the shop can combine them into one shipment. Use the same message for a delivery window or a new address, which must reach the shop before carrier handover.

## Key facts

- Separate orders usually ship separately.
- Each order gets its own tracking number.
- The shop times separate orders to ship around the same time.
- Separate orders can be combined into one shipment on request.
- Requested delivery dates are noted on the order.
- Address changes must be made before carrier handover.
- Ask the workshop for current delivery times before you order.
- Foam should not stay vacuum-packed longer than 2-3 weeks, so unpack each box within a few days of arrival.
- On sofa orders the metal bars travel in their own box of about 16 x 16 x 2 in, with its own tracking.

## What to ask for, and when

| Request | When to ask | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing | No message | Separate packages, each with its own tracking, timed to leave together |
| Combine two orders | Before dispatch | Sent as a single shipment |
| An extra cover with a cushion | When you order the cover | Shipped with the cushion where possible |
| A delivery window | Before dispatch | Noted on the order; the shipment is timed for it |
| A new address | As soon as you know | Updated before the parcel goes to the carrier |

## Two orders, two boxes, one departure

Two orders are two parcels unless someone says otherwise. Each gets its own tracking number, and the shop times them to leave around the same time. That is not the same as one box, friend. Two boats can leave on the same tide and still make port a day apart.

A single floor sofa shows it plainly. It ships as vacuum-sealed [roll packs](https://cushionguide.com/glossary/#roll-pack) of compressed cushions plus a small box of metal bars, and those pieces often arrive on different days, sometimes with different couriers. The [72-hour unpacking Pattern](https://cushionguide.com/guides/vacuum-packed-cushion-first-72-hours/) covers what to do as each one lands.

So if one box matters, ask for it. Is someone home to take in two deliveries on two different days?

## One message, sent before dispatch

- ✓ Name both orders and say you want them combined.
- ✓ Add any delivery window you need.
- ✓ Give the new address, if it changed.
- ✓ Say whether the courier may leave the parcel at your door.

> **Tailor's margin:** Two separate cushion orders ship in two boxes with two tracking numbers unless you ask, before dispatch, for one combined shipment.

> A new delivery address has to reach the shop before the parcel is handed to the carrier; after handover, the box is already on its way.

## Buyer questions

**A common question:** I placed two orders. Will they come in one box?

**The workshop's answer:** Usually in separate packages, each with its own tracking number, but timed to go out around the same time. For an extra cover ordered alongside a cushion, the shop said it would try to ship them together.

**A common question:** Can you time delivery for a certain date, change the address, or ship two orders together?

**The workshop's answer:** Yes. A requested delivery window is noted on the order and the shipment is timed for it. Send a new address as soon as possible so it is updated before the parcel goes to the carrier. Separate orders can also be combined into a single shipment on request.

**A common question:** Does a floor sofa come in one big box?

**The workshop's answer:** No. It ships as vacuum-sealed roll packs of compressed cushions plus a small box of metal bars. They ship together but often arrive on different days, sometimes with different couriers.

**A common question:** Does someone need to sign for the delivery?

**The workshop's answer:** Usually not. Orders ship without a signature requirement, so the courier can leave them at your address. The shop can pass on your permission to leave parcels and ask the carrier to remove a signature requirement.

**A common question:** Can you send it to someone else as a gift, with no price inside?

**The workshop's answer:** Yes. Send the recipient's address and the order ships there with no price or invoice inside. Add the address to the order notes so it can be double-checked.

## Questions buyers ask next

### When is it too late to combine two orders?

Once the parcels are handed to the carrier. Combining, address changes and delivery windows all need to reach the shop before dispatch, so send them as soon as the second order is placed.

### Do cushion orders ship to Hawaii?

Yes. Hawaii and other non-contiguous states are covered, and the quote states the shipping cost to your address. Puerto Rico can be added on request, sometimes with an extra shipping fee.

### Will a cover ordered later travel with my cushion?

Where possible, yes. When a buyer ordered an extra cover alongside a cushion, the shop said it would try to ship the two together. Mention it in a message so both orders are matched before dispatch.
