# I just ordered my floor sofa in the wrong color. Can I still change it?

*You clicked brick when you meant navy. It happens more often than you would think, and it is usually fixable if you are quick.*

Also asked as: I ordered the wrong color.; I clicked brick by mistake.

> **The quick answer:** Usually yes: a floor sofa color can be changed after ordering right up until it ships. Message the workshop with the exact color name or number from the chart; it checks with production, then updates the order. If the sofa is already packed and leaving that day, it ships as ordered, and an extra cover set in the other color is the fix.

## Key facts

- A floor sofa color can be changed after ordering until dispatch.
- The workshop checks with the production team before confirming.
- Send the exact color name or number from the color chart.
- If only a general color was chosen, the workshop asks for the exact code.
- An order already packed ships as ordered; an extra cover set is the alternative.
- Dimensions can be updated after ordering if you message quickly; finished custom pieces generally can't be altered.

## Send the exact color code from the floor sofa chart

Right, then: message the workshop with the exact color name or number from its chart. “Something darker” is how a sofa ends up the wrong green twice. If you only chose a general color, the workshop asks for the code before touching the order, and it checks with production before confirming.

Quote the numbers from the [modular floor sofa](https://cushionguide.com/cushions/modular-floor-sofas/) chart; the glossary entry on the [fabric code](https://cushionguide.com/glossary/#fabric-code) explains why a number beats a name. So, which color did you mean to click?

## Swaps made after checkout

- ✓ Brick to navy, to brown, and to water green
- ✓ White to brown, and bone white to brick on the day it shipped
- ✓ Khaki to emerald, and pink to anthracite
- ✓ Beige to mustard, right after ordering
- ✓ Light coffee to dark coffee
- ✓ Every item in a set to navy blue, or to color #22

## Color changes run until the floor sofa ships

Sofa color changes run until dispatch. One switch went through on the very day the order shipped; another order, already packed and leaving that day, could not be changed. Same day, different boxes. So message the minute you notice.

If the sofa goes out as ordered, the workshop's suggestion is an extra cover set in the color you meant. The [replacement covers Pattern](https://cushionguide.com/guides/floor-sofa-replacement-covers/) explains how those sets work.

## Sizes too, if you are quick

Dimensions can be corrected after ordering as well; one mattress was updated to 75 x 38 x 8 in (191 x 97 x 20 cm) because the buyer wrote in promptly. A finished custom piece, though, usually can't be altered, so send final sizes and a drawing early. I learned that one on a window seat years ago, dear, and I still wince.

> **Tailor's margin:** A floor sofa color can change after ordering until it ships; send the exact color number from the chart, not a general color name.

## Buyer questions

**A common question:** Can I change the color or the dimensions after I've ordered?

**The workshop's answer:** Yes, if you message quickly. One sofa was switched from brick to brown and a mattress resized to 75 x 38 x 8 in (191 x 97 x 20 cm); after a change, the shop asks for the exact color code from its chart to be sure of the shade.

**A common question:** I just placed my order. Is it too late to switch colors?

**The workshop's answer:** Usually not. Colors are changed routinely after checkout as long as the order hasn't shipped: dark brown to green, pink to anthracite, green to pink, or a whole set to navy blue. Message the shop with the new color name or number.

**A common question:** Can I change the color or shape of a custom order after I've paid?

**The workshop's answer:** Before production finishes, yes; one sofa went from beige to mustard right after ordering. Once a piece is made it usually can't be altered, so send final sizes and a drawing early.

**A common question:** After a color change, how can I be sure the right one is used?

**The workshop's answer:** Send the exact fabric code, not a description. The shop sends a photo of the chosen color to confirm, and if the receipt and messages differ, the color agreed in messages is the one made.

**A common question:** Will you check the order details with me before making the sofa?

**The workshop's answer:** When anything is unclear, yes: unclear or mismatched orders are held, the workshop lists final sizes, thickness and colors for your approval, and production starts after you confirm. A photo of the finished piece has been sent before dispatch when buyers asked.

## Questions buyers ask next

### Can the delivery address change along with the sofa color?

Yes, while the order hasn't shipped. Addresses have been updated even while an order was being prepared. Send the new address and the new color code in the same message so both are changed together.

### Can every piece in a floor sofa set move to one new color?

Yes. Whole sets have been switched after ordering, with all items going to navy blue in one case and to color #22 in another. Give the one code that should apply to every piece.

### My sofa was packed before I asked. What are my options?

It ships as ordered. The workshop's suggestion is an extra cover set in the color you wanted, which goes onto the same sofa and leaves you with two looks instead of one mistake.
